Jimmy Lee replied on June 20, 2009 00:01 to the question "How do I post tweets to a trending topic?" in Twitter:
gamutgal: It's the same as adding onto a trend. If you start a trend about #magicdonkies it will become one. But if nobody but you is in the trend its not going to be very popular and wouldn't actually be considered a true trend.
to everybody else having problems tweeting in trends: Create a new dummy account and see if that one allows you to trend. If it does I suggest deleting your account and starting a new one.

Jimmy Lee replied on June 03, 2009 19:20 to the question "Sending Direct Message to Gcal" in Twitter:
Have you confirmed that Gcal is following you back? If you look at the @twittercal page they had a post back in February that they were having problems getting their gcal bot to "Follow back" people. Since they didn't give any updates on the status I'd be inclined to believe that they never fixed it.

Jimmy Lee replied on June 02, 2009 22:03 to the question "Can I have multiple accounts?" in Twitter:
You could set up a gmail account (free) and use "tags" so that you can create multiple accounts under the same name. For example, if my email was chris@gmail.com I could add anything after chris (using a plus symbol '+') like so:
chris+twit1@gmail.com
chris+foo@gmail.com
chris+spam@gmail.com
etc.
Jimmy Lee replied on June 02, 2009 21:59 to the question "can my online store join?" in Twitter:
You cannot use the same email address. Unless you use gmail. With gmail if your email was bebe@gmail.com you could sign up for multiple accounts like this:
Acct1: bebe+twit1@gmail.com
Acct2: bebe+twit2@gmail.com
Acct3: bebe+twit3@gmail.com
Gmail allows you to add "tags" to the end of your email address to assist with filtering where you get email from (it can also help identify when a website sells your email address to somebody else).
This ability would allow you to "spoof" different email addresses so that Twitter would recognize them all as a different email when really they are the same.

FYI this is a known issue. Follow that link and there's a guide for what to do when this happens.
There is a link at the top of this page that says:

Try checking it sometimes when you have issues... it's helpful.

Jimmy Lee replied on June 02, 2009 20:34 to the question "lots of followers, but no updates?" in Twitter:
I have been having this problem too. They seem to start following me almost immediately after I post about specific topics. It seems to be some type of bot service, since none of them have any profile info. Just an empty account with tons of users they "follow" and a handful of "followers" who are probably fellow bots.-
