Jimmy Lee started following the question "why wont songbird rip cds and title the tracks like itunes or windows media player?" in Songbird.
Jimmy Lee marked one of Koshi's replies in Songbird as useful. Koshi replied to the question "why wont songbird rip cds and title the tracks like itunes or windows media player?".
Jimmy Lee replied on December 02, 2008 22:35 to the problem "mashTape panel disappears from browser tab" in Songbird:
Okay. Got it. But when the auto-hide feature is enabled, if I hit Ctrl+T to open a new tab, that new tab has the mashTape panel opened already... This is when the above described "feature" happens.
Shouldn't the panel "auto-hide" on a new tab when opening a new tab and not on an older tab when closing a newer one?
Jimmy Lee reported a problem in Songbird on December 02, 2008 21:53:
mashTape panel disappears from browser tabmashTape panel disappears from tabs when closing another tab with the mashTape panel open. However this might be a feature and not a defect ;)
Steps to reproduce:
Open a new tab.
Open mashTape panel.
Open another new tab.... mashTape panel carries over.
Close the newer tab.... mashTape panel disappears from the first new tab; however the icon says that the panel is still open, and has the "close panel" symbol. When you click on that symbol, a little bar disappears and then the icon is reset to the "open panel" symbol, which does in fact re-open the panel.

Jimmy Lee asked a question in Mozilla on August 28, 2008 15:34:
Is there a way to translate entire page w/o selecting (ctrl+a)?Can there be a way to issue "translate page" without highlighting anything?
I don't know if this is a problem because I assume it's improper use of the translate command; however let me provide an example...
Example: I navigate to this page http://www.ideaxidea.com/archives/200... and want to translate it. However there are a lot of different areas that would need to be translated... instead of individually selecting elements and opening ubiq, then trans this I tried hitting Ctrl+A, then issuing trans this. Multiple exceptions (I'm assuming it tried to translate the images and non-text items as to why).
So instead of this mess can we simply issue a trans page command to translate all the text on the page? Perhaps this even warrants a new command translate-page ?

I believe that they mentioned either in the video or somewhere on the introductory page that eventually such a thing will be included. I'm sure it will be in a subsequent release, they are simply hammering out the details now and these features weren't ready for the 0.1 alpha release!
Oh, and I'm loving it as well!-

Jimmy Lee replied on August 27, 2008 14:31 to the question "how to email a picture in the webpage by Ubiquity?" in Mozilla:
Perhaps there should be a context-sensitive menu for Ubiquity that exists for objects! Much like when you highlight text and right click you will find a ubiquity menu with quick access to your commands. The same thing could exist for objects such as pictures, flash, etc. only without the need to highlight them?

Jimmy Lee asked a question in Mozilla on August 27, 2008 14:24:
Is there a way to change where the notifications pop-up on screen? In my dual-screen setup the pop-up notifications are showing in the bottom right corner of my right monitor, even though Firefox is on my left monitor. Is there a setting to change where these notifications are displayed? Or are they automatically placed?-

Jimmy Lee replied on August 27, 2008 14:07 to the problem "Uniquity email command results in HTML displayed as text in Gmail" in Mozilla:
I too, have found that this function works wonderfully when GMail is already open in a tab; however I don't like to have a tab open all the time for GMail!
Once the new tab opens with the html translated as text, any further things that you add to the message will be inserted correctly! I tried following the tutorial and inserted a few paragraphs into the email -> they showed up as text-transcribed HTML. Then I tried highlighting some text and using the map function, which inserted an actual map into the message contents, so it can't be that HTML composure is turned off.... (I think this is a limitation in GMail revolving around sending html pre-formatted messages through a link-like format?)
