Jason I feel your pain. I too wish the transcription was better. The next route i'm taking is a bit of twist but its worked in the past. I'm plan to wire up a mechanical turk bridge so that audio responses are pushed to turk for translation.
Now like anything sure, that will cost a bit or two, but on my twilio project the audio is the first best bit i want, then though, i need it translated really really well. Turks can aid this. Setting it up to be automated, will be a fun challenge.
I'm grabbing all qualitative type data, nothing that will spark a privacy issue, and turks will never know the context of the questions that got this audio answer, merely the task of transcribing it.
Thats my first fix thats come to mind to tackle this issue. Granted that only works in english...

Well just another way to flesh out what you want to see to a developer. Its like nearly operational napkin sketches or mockups. I guess if you support the import of graphics, we could just take snapshots and put them in. But having that smart app sensing iframe widget code and going "oh yeah ok you what this here, sure bam.. what else" would be cool.
You're right about keeping product features to a min, that is important. I think allowing people to add their own graphics and or template bits is good enough.
It'd be really nice to see a whole fan/development community around Mockups submitting template kits as add ons, much like the photoshop community has for brushes and what not. Could be memory intensive down the road but you go from an army of one innovating your app to an army of thousands of users, who simply want to make you better for their own gains.

license portableI think person should be allowed to take their paid license to whatever box go to.
Sadly I'm not a laptop user, I'm an old school desktop person. But because of that, I'm basically screwed cause while I paid for a license of balsamiq, i can only use it on one box.
Now ideally wouldn't it great if Balsamiq was like "i don't care where you use me provided theres just this one instance of me running out there", meaning you aren't copying me all over the planet and forcing me live off scraps and thats not at all my intention, but I really don't want to buy it again to use on a second desktop, it forces me not to use it at my other job where my other desktop is at, and thats a bummer.
I dunno what technology needs to be laid down so that an app can sense another version of itself alive on the planet. I'm sure its out there, and probably not on the radar for implementation, but at the same time, it is what it is and because of that I can only use Balsamiq at home.
Now you could say "get work to buy it!" yes but I already bought it.
You could also say, VNC to your desktop at home and run it, oh well thats a lame workaround.
Tough, suck it up, ok I guess I can. Still sucks.
