Joel Longtine replied on August 27, 2008 22:27 to the idea "Pause Button for socialthing" in Socialthing:
While it may not quite be a "pause" button, you can try this:

Deselecting that button will filter that user from your updates.
If you want to see them again, you can go to the Settings -> Home tab and remove them from your hidden friends.

Let us know if you have any other thoughts...
One thing to note: we sometimes have a hard time keep friends up to date, so it is possible that some of the usernames you ought to have in the drop down will not be there.

Joel Longtine replied on August 27, 2008 22:18 to the problem "Reauthenticate Facebook" in Socialthing:
I responded to this on this thread:
The changes facebook made for new.facebook.com have taken away the capabilities we had with the old facebook. facebook connect should fix those problems, but it won't be out for a few more days, at least. We have code ready to deploy for facebook connect whenever they go live with it.
We retested the code today and are ready to deploy as soon as facebook makes the change.

Joel Longtine replied on August 20, 2008 16:19 to the problem "Plurk duplicating posts" in Socialthing:
This is an unfortunate consequence of how we are currently required to get data from Plurk. They only offer RSS feeds, and do a good bit of massaging of the update, including changing URLs. While possible to do write some code to fix this, we've had other priorities, and haven't had the time to get to it.
Hope this helps at least clarify the situation.

Joel Longtine replied on May 18, 2008 15:07 to the question "Older tweets please" in Socialthing:
Hey cind,
Until now we've been held back by a limitation of the twitter api. We've been working (very hard) on some features that will allow us to overcome this and provide a good bit of additional functionality.
Thanks for the feedback! We appreciate your use of our service and can't wait to get this new stuff out to you.
Joel Longtine marked one of Ben's replies in Socialthing as useful. Ben replied to the idea "LastFM".
