Leslie, yes you can! Bring up the Quicksilver window with your preferred key combo, type in the name of the app, tab to the actions... err... "pane", type 'quit', and hit enter. -

Perhaps you could add filtering so that @replies to non-existent twitter users don't get broadcast to everyone who is following someone who replies to that non-existent user. A case in point:
I (@jlongtine on twitter) got the following tweet from Evan Williams (@ev): http://twitter.com/ev/statuses/589046572 though it was a reply to @bettr (which isn't a user on twitter: http://twitter.com/bettr)
