Wow. Everyone, I wanted to return the book for a refund, not keep the book and also get a refund. But Amazon didn't even want to hear about that possibility, and didn't help direct me to the third party seller if that was what was supposed to happen. It makes sense to go to the seller, but I'd only heard of the A to Z policy, and wasn't sure what else I could do. I still have the book, and still do not like to shop at Amazon. Thanks to the couple of you who considered that I was legitimately treated poorly and was not trying to scam Amazon.

A-to-Z Guarantee Claim is not for your case; please note only merchant that put up their 'shipping time guarantee' would consider your case eligible. Currently, only buying from 'Amazon Fulfillment' would qualify for such compensation if delay. Read carefully about Amazon's policy if orders are fulfilled by 3rd party seller. The 3 days period is also mentioned in their policy page.
I have viewed these documents and nah ~ sorry, not for you.
There are increasing numbers of scamming activities in online marketplace trying to get compensation in the name of 'customer satisfaction'. Please also know that if you win the claim, it is the pity poor 3rd party seller that will liable for the claim, NOT the all amazing Amazon. Amazon will take the money from the seller's account, give it to you. You should not feel happy because we are taking money and goods from the poor seller, and left him nothing.
