I understand that hyves.nl is mostly interesting for the Dutch users of SB, as it is (still) mostly a Dutch social network (foreign languages are available). I guess the generic RSS support is a good option.
By the way, if there is need for a Dutch version of Second|Brain I would be more than interested to help out! At the moment I can't convince my network here to use Second|Brain as they miss services like hyves or a Dutch lay-out.
So take your time and keep up the good work – Erik van Luxzenburg, on October 06, 2008 13:44

Unfortunately, I can't promise you specific support for Hyves.nl any time soon. Here's what's going to happen (1 outta 3): a. We implement a generic RSS support that would let you hook up a service like that (most likely) b. We start localizing and add Hyves.nl to to our Dutch version (less likely) or c. We add support for Hyves.nl with Secondbrain in general (not likely).
By all means, man. I've added it to the list, but I don't want to get your hopes up for this one in the next few months, yeah? ;-)

Thanks for your input Erik... We use Linkedin ourselves and I find it to be a great service. Right now Linkedin offer a feed for your network's updates but not one for your updates only (which would be what we'd pull into Secondbrain). But I'll add Linkedin to our list of services to look into in anyway. Later this week we're releasing better filtering for your updates allowing you to filter out what people posted, did or said. This way we hopefully can accommodate more services like Linkedin and similar.

Well and as I said, I have several, one other important social network I would like to stay up to date with is: LinkedIn! I guess one of the fastest growing business networks (at least in Europe)

well I have some services I would like, post them individualy here!
First I would like to see support for Hyves.nl (or hyves.es, .be, .de, se as it is available in several languages). It's the most populair social network in the Netherlands

That's indeed cool, as for now I use Metaweblog for that now, which doesn't show up too nicely. – Erik van Luxzenburg, on October 02, 2008 10:11

Absolutely... I love this idea. We do have Instapaper on our list, but it would definitely make sense to make it a native functionality in Secondbrain. I also kinda ties in with a 'quick add' option I've been playing around with.-

I am definitely with you, Rene. I think this would be huge. The current Overheard feature is already amazingly helpful, especially for company employees who may not have tried out tools for monitoring the Internet in this manner. We haven't made any progress on this because we've been working on other things, but I'd like to get this on the roadmap.

Eric, yes I believe there is a way which (in my totally unqualified opinion) shouldn't be that difficult - just use the feed provided by the blog-content aggregator of your choice: digg, technorati, whatever! – Rene, on September 24, 2008 16:15

Hello! May I revive this thread please?
I too think extending "that which is overheard" into the blogosphere will give companies using GS a crazy-powerful tool! And it is definitely a major sell-point for GS too.
So it's been four months now (at least from the date-stamps on these posts) - is "overheard" any closer to this extension now?
(I also commented on Eric's post above)
