Johan marked one of Andres' replies in Spotify as useful. Andres replied to the question "What does Spotify use all these peer connections for?". Johan and 5 other people think it's one of the best replies.

Johan reported a problem in uberVU on October 31, 2008 11:15:

My password is shown in the url!

After I hooked up Twitter the password is shown in plain text as a part of the URL. That's not cool, guys!

However... the fact that you worried about this in the first place means that we didn't do our job indicating that it was private. We've been thinking about improving this and your experience tells us that we probably should move ahead on that one.

Great observations, Idaa!

I've added all these suggestions to our to-do list. Some of them are request we should just go ahead and improve. A few other things relates to how we will solve our future plans on how to connect with people you know.

To let you in on where we're planning to go with this - We want to make it easier to connect with the network you already have in other services. So if you provide me your username on say... Flickr, we want to present you with

a. Which of them are already on Secondbrain (and ask you if you want to connect here as well).
b. Which are not on Secondbrain (and prompt you if you want to send an invitation within Flickr)

Trust me, we really appreciate your feedback. We know a lot of stuff that needs improvement and have plenty of ideas on where we want to take this - but it's feedback like this that makes us aware and help us prioritize what we should focus on.

I hear ya.... We'll release a handful of tweaks and updates in a few days. One of them is that we have pulled the list you're referring to out of there and replaced it with service icons. And rather than listing your accounts they now take you to the library section displaying items only from that particular service. Hope this helps a little bit. But your point is still valid in terms of be explicit about what's public or not.

Wow, that's super weird. Try to clear the cookies for Secondbrain and log back in. If you still have no luck with this. Provide us some details like what browser you're using and we'll look right into it.

Unfortunately, I can't promise you specific support for Hyves.nl any time soon. Here's what's going to happen (1 outta 3): a. We implement a generic RSS support that would let you hook up a service like that (most likely) b. We start localizing and add Hyves.nl to to our Dutch version (less likely) or c. We add support for Hyves.nl with Secondbrain in general (not likely).

By all means, man. I've added it to the list, but I don't want to get your hopes up for this one in the next few months, yeah? ;-)

Thanks for your input Erik... We use Linkedin ourselves and I find it to be a great service. Right now Linkedin offer a feed for your network's updates but not one for your updates only (which would be what we'd pull into Secondbrain). But I'll add Linkedin to our list of services to look into in anyway. Later this week we're releasing better filtering for your updates allowing you to filter out what people posted, did or said. This way we hopefully can accommodate more services like Linkedin and similar.
