John reported a problem in IKEA on March 23, 2009 04:32:

Why should I ever shop at ikea again?
I am irate as I write this. My wife and I bought a bed base called a sultan Laxeby. the first time we got home to open it up and find that one of the boxes had been mislabeled. We had one half of what we needed. OK. That happens sometimes. We packaged both boxes up and returned them to the Renton, WA store. After having to wait for 20 minutes in the waiting area, we were helped. 20 minutes is a long time when you don't even have 5 minutes to spare. When the store empolyee asked if we wanted just to get another box we said no we want a whole new set we didn't know what was missing out of the two. She said fine and a person would go and get us another set. There are two boxes for this bed base. I get home this time only to find the new set they gave us has no hardware at all! My question is do you even care or am I just wasting more time on your companies web page out of my pathetic life. I really don't want to drive back to Ikea again and deal with this but I know I have to. This situation is extremely irritating, especially because you will say didn't you check the boxes the second time? No, I didn't I assumed too much I suppose. I assumed that when a person returns an item because it is wrong the store would verify that the new item was correct before sending it out. It seems that if i want to buy something from Ikea I have to personally open all the packaging and inspect it on site before I leave to make sure it is all there. That just makes it unreal for me to even want to set foot in your store anymore. How do you deal with this kind of situation? Of course now I have to make another trip I have no time for because I can't afford just to throw this thing in the garbage. Thanks for reading this, if you made it this far.
