John B replied on November 03, 2009 21:46 to the question "webpages STILL not loading" in BonzoBox:
Hi Lisa,
We've been having some problems with the system that generates the screenshots for several weeks now. We had re-written everything to work with an external provider that completely fell through and are now re-writing again to make our old system work as it should.
If you can hang in there for another week or 10 days we should be back up and running. I understand your frustration - it's frustrating for me too.
I think that you probably discovered it already, but you can, at least, still visit the sites you have bookmarked by clicking on the "we are building your BonzoBox" image, although I realize that this is far from ideal.

Hi! Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I was camping.
We have a bookmarklet. You can get it here or here. If you're signed in when you get the bookmarklet it will encrypt your user ID into it so you won't have to sign in when using it.
We have a toolbar and/or firefox addon under consideration, and I would like to get them done, but they hot super high priority right now, I think we will spend some time working on the bookmarklet first.

I really liked seeing all @replies. I don't follow the whole world, but many one-sided @replies gave me a heads up to what was going on, and I have discovered some extremely interesting people with them.
While the option to view @replies only if you're following both sides of the conversation is great, please bring back all @replies, I really use them a lot.

John B asked a question in TechEntreprise on April 30, 2009 15:47:
Adding Projects from outside of the geographic areaI'm involved in a project outside of Montreal. I tried to add it but the map insists on putting it in Montreal. Should I not be adding projects based outside of your coverage area, or is there a way to change the address?
John B replied on April 24, 2009 13:29 to the problem "delete" in BonzoBox:
Since BonzoBox is a website it is not stored on your computer, so there's no need to delete it.
If you installed our Bookmarklet or you Bookmarked BonzoBox you can remove those by using your browser's Organize Bookmarks, (in the Bookmarks menu), or Organize Favorites, (in the Favorites menu).
If you set BonzoBox as your homepage you can get rid of it by setting something else as your homepage.
If you want us to delete your BonzoBox account from our servers, please send an E-mail to feedback at bonzobox dot com and I will take care of it for you.
John B replied on April 17, 2009 03:30 to the problem "Websites not totally loading onto dashboard" in BonzoBox:
Hi,
First, thanks for using BonzoBox.
This can sometimes happen if we couldn't create an image of a website for some reason, (for example if it was loading very slowly when our servers tried to make the image). Our servers will try several times to create the image, then take a break, then try again after several hours. If you can let me know which sites are doing this I will move them to the front of the line so you should have images soon.-

John B replied on March 27, 2009 15:53 to the problem "delete" in BonzoBox:
Are you looking to delete a single bookmark or your whole account?
To delete a single bookmark drag it to one of the trash cans, they're at the top and bottom left of your bookmarks, and will go red when you're holding a site over them.
To have your entire account deleted send us an E-mail at feedback at bonzobox dot com and I'll take care of it for you.
John B replied on March 23, 2009 14:20 to the question "bookmarks" in BonzoBox:
Once they're imported go to whichever page they're on, (if you have a bunch they may be on several consecutive pages), and they can be rearranged from there.
If you just want to move them around on that page you just have to drag & drop them into the order you prefer.
If you want to move them to other pages you have 2 options:
- You can drag them to the page numbers at the top and bottom of the current page of bookmarks. When you drop on a page number the bookmark is moved to the first position on that page.
- You can click the + icon when you mouse over a bookmark. In the window that pops up you can choose the page and the position, look just under the Tags area.
If you're still not clear let me know and I'll try to explain it further with screenshots or a video.

I'm back again,
We've completely rewritten our bookmark importer and it should work now. Give it a shot at http://bonzobox.com/help/importbookmarks and let me know how it goes.
I can't seem to find the E-mail, but if I remember right it was you that was trying to import bookmarks from Delicious. We have an experimental import direct from Delicious using their API here: http://bonzobox.com/help/importbookmarks/delicious.
John B replied on March 17, 2009 20:50 to the problem "I use the "Flock" browser." in BonzoBox:
We just pushed an update that should resolve any bookmark issues. Our bookmark parser has been completely rewritten and is not only faster, but more accurate.
I tested the new parser with your bookmarks file and it seems to work well. Go ahead and try to import your bookmarks and let me know how it goes.
The bookmark importer is at http://bonzobox.com/help/importbookmarks.

John B replied on March 06, 2009 19:58 to the idea "Edit my tags (delete, rename, add)" in BonzoBox:
Because of the way tagging is set up, once a tag is in the system it is permanent. If you mis-tagged a site the best solution is to remove that tag from the site and add the corrected tag, (just click the + when you mouse over a site on your dashboard, then edit the contents of the tags area).
If you're referring to the "My Tags" section on the side panel, that's a pretty good idea. At the moment it's your most popular tags, but some customization is something we could do.
Were you referring to the first or the second situation?
A comment on the idea "Set Activities based on Document Location or folder" in Slife Labs:
It's capturing the document title fine, (it shows up in the docs & web pages list), it's just not capturing the folder info, or if it is, it's not associating it with the activity.
I'm using Dreamweaver CS3. – John B, on March 04, 2009 15:12
