John Goran asked a question in Tightrope Media Systems on November 24, 2009 21:21:
Live Stream in a ZoneI built a bulletin with the URL of our live stream, to show in one zone on our in-house display, in place of using the video card. However, I get nothing but a black screen. I'm using the URL to our live stream:
mms://216.195.129.139:8080/
Am I missing something here?

Any chance on getting full justification for Carousel bulletins? For "Template Edit: Alignment", any chance on adding "Full Justification" as an alignment option, to go along with "Left, Center, and Right"?

back to back programs on sxWhat are the parameters for running back-to-back programs from an SX server? Does there need to be any amount of time between programs? Can you run them on the same output? Etc., ect.

Jennifer,
I just went into Carousel 5.2.2 Build 58 to delete a group. I noticed the Group controls are now showing ONLY in "All Bulletins". In other words, the Group controls are no longer available when in "My Bulletins". Any reason for this???? I believe it's a disadvantage to not have the tools available in "My Bulletins".
Thanks.

Help with Pentagon Channel downloadsAnyone downloading programs from The Pentagon Channel? I've tried many times. I've tried a number of transcoders, including FixMpeg. No matter what I do, I can not get these programs to run. Has anyone been successful? If you have, what are you doing?

John Goran reported a problem in Tightrope Media Systems on September 05, 2008 15:56:
System Not Recording from the "Record" scheduleI have entered 2 "Record" schedules into Cablecast in the past 2 days. It appears that neither of the schedules fired the SX2 (the programs do not show up on the program list). I am able to put the SX2 Encoder into "Record" from Autopilot, and the test recording is fine.
I record programs on a regular basis, usually from satellite; the last time would have been several weeks ago. There were no problems at that time, and no change in data entry or procedure this time. However, there has been updates to software.
Thanks.

John Goran replied on August 29, 2008 14:33 to the problem "Monitor Control Issues" in Tightrope Media Systems:
JR & JJ,
Any and all changes I have made in the schedule were made mid-day; after the "on" time and before the "off" time for that day, and the changes would have affected either the "off" time for that day or subsequent days. I don't see your first paragraph as an issue.
The "Power On Now" and "Power Off Now" haven't worked correctly for several weeks. Not even restarting the app or rebooting has made a difference. Me and my staff usually have to turn the monitor off manually at the end of the day. If I leave earlier than the scheduled off time, the "Power Off Now" has no effect, so I have to power off the monitor manually.
Having a static schedule is not an option. Meeting days and times vary weekly. I already schedule the off times as a guess as to when a meeting might end.
The other issue I have is that the monitor faces the glass front door of this building, and I do not want it on when there is no one here. I'd like to come in the next morning and find I still have a monitor.
Plan B!!!
Thanks.
J

JR,
It would seem that your description of the in-house use of Monitor Control is static; i.e., you folks don't change the schedule. In this world I'm in, meeting schedules vary almost daily, so I have to make changes in the schedule. You may try varying your in-house schedule and see what happens.

JR,
The Monitor Control app is always running in the system tray. I've never seen it NOT there.
The issue may have something to do with the "Infineon Security Platform Solution" software that came on the PC, apparently embedded on the motherboard (maybe?). I've not found a way to shut it down. Just a guess.
However, the erratic behavior has become worrysome, as the monitor can be seen from the outside of the building when it's on.
John Goran reported a problem in Tightrope Media Systems on August 27, 2008 16:41:
Monitor Control IssuesI have noticed erratic behavior with Monitor Control. Sometimes it works according to schedule; sometimes not. Sometimes you can turn the monitor on or off manually; sometimes not. I have rebooted the Player 210, and not had the monitor come on, or sometimes not go off.
I have noticed that if you make a change in the schedule, it may or may not pick up the change. If you reboot the unit, it may or may not pick up the change.
When it works, it works correctly. When it doesn't, well, either the monitor doesn't come on or doesn't go off.
John
