Even when not playing music Spotify takes around 3% CPU on Mac OS X Snow Leopard on a MacBook Pro.

It wouldn't be a problem, but it means that my MacBook's fans spin up a lot.

I understand it taking CPU time when playing music, but when just hidden away it should take no CPU time at all.
