Not sure what you have planned here, but at least the option for something real simple, would be great. A subject line like "Taxi", followed by fields that are comma seperated, like:
"tag:client tag:BigBank",YEN,1200, "Dinner back to Hotel"
would work really well. Allow image attachments up to a certain (sane) size for photos of receipts, and you are done.
Grab the identity of the user from his/her email address and the date of the expense from the date of the email.
That would make it platform independent (cover blackberry, iPhone etc).
Not saying you shouldn't provide a GUI as well. But something incredibly simple would work just as well.

There are various services that provide (free and paid) currency conversions of various types. Some are money market rates, some are travelex style rates, still others are credit card rates. The latter is probably most useful as it aligns (pretty much) to the kind of exchange rate you get by sticking your debit card in an ATM machine in a foreign country.-

John Turner asked a question in Atlantic Dominion Solutions on May 13, 2009 10:30:
Can Expens'd do Currency *Conversions*? Crucial!Do you have plans to, or has someone else written a spreadsheet lookup or something to do currency conversions? We travel all over the place and I'm interested in working out whether the company could use Expens'd to deal with cash-based expense claims. However, the benefits of doing so are substantially lower if there is no way of getting a currency conversion (use the CC midpoint for the day) out of the system.
