John Whitlock replied on August 28, 2009 18:17 to the question "Is Vidoop gone out of business?" in Vidoop:
Plimmin - myVidoop is not twitterfeed. Twitterfeed allows you to log in using your myVidoop OpenID, but it is your twitterfeed account that is twittering like crazy. You need to turn it off at http://twitterfeed.com, which may be difficult because you killed your vidoop account (maybe you have a twitterfeed username and password set up too?). A twitterfeed employee might be able to help, but we can't.
Best of luck,
Former Vidoop Employee
John Whitlock replied on February 02, 2009 05:27 to the question "I can't sign in" in Vidoop:
I'm sorry you are having trouble signing in. The service is working for me at the moment, so I'll need some more information to help you. What part of the sign-in process isn't working for you?
It may be easier to add a screenshot of the part you are having issues with. See http://take-a-screenshot.org/ for easy instructions on taking a screenshot, then add it to the question.
If we didn't explain the sign in process, then maybe one of the videos will help:
John Whitlock replied on January 31, 2009 07:28 to the problem "Lost Login Info & Can't Cancel/Edit Feed" in twitterfeed:
I just tried getting a myVidoop activation email, and it took a few seconds. You might want to check your spam folder - the email comes from "admin@myvidoop.com", and the subject is "Your myVidoop activation code".
Once you are activated, you may want to add a phone to your account - this gives you another method for activating your browser, and you don't have to guess what email account you used to sign up.
If you post to http://getsatisfaction.com/vidoop/pro... then the myVidoop devs are more likely to see your issue.
John Whitlock replied on January 31, 2009 07:09 to the question "stupid no win circle of frustration" in Vidoop:
My guess is that you are trying to sign up for a myvidoop account so that you can login to twitterfeed. You may want to see http://getsatisfaction.com/vidoop/top... - Sam's response may be useful. If not, please post some additional details so we can help.
John Whitlock replied on January 30, 2009 21:48 to the question "Passwords listing" in Vidoop:
We're sorry for the long wait for a reply.
If you don't have a cell phone, you can add a U.S. voice phone number. When you need to activate, you'll get a call, and your one-time passcode will be read to you over the phone.
To get a particular password:
- Sign into https://myvidoop.com
- Go to https://myvidoop.com/sites/passwords .
- Click the 'Edit' link to the left of the password
- Click 'Show Password' in the pop-up
We don't currently provide a way to get all of your passwords at once. If you still need this feature, please let us know and we'll bump it up the priority list.
John Whitlock asked a question in Vidoop on December 25, 2008 20:41:
Firefox says myVidoop Plugin 2.1.0.14466 is available, but 2.1.0.13685 is always downloaded.When I start Firefox 3.0.5 on OS X, it says myVidoop Plugin 2.1.0.14466 is available, but when I tell it to install, it downloads and installs 2.1.0.13685 again, and asks me to restart Firefox.-

John Whitlock replied on September 14, 2008 22:12 to the question "Issues downloading the plugin" in Vidoop:
This sometimes happens when the download is corrupted. Please try downloading again from http://www.vidoop.com/plugin/ie/myvid... - it should be about 2 MB.
John Whitlock replied on August 26, 2008 19:57 to the question "Please support YubiKey for login" in Vidoop:
We are designing support for new "what-you-have" methods, and the YubiKey looks like a strong substitute for phone or email. We'll consider this device as we continue work, but we don't expect to support any new methods for a few months.
If you would like us to prioritize YubiKey support, please vote by clicking the "I have this questions,too!" button.
John Whitlock replied on June 23, 2008 16:20 to the problem "Photo categories are broken and they overlap one another" in Vidoop:
One possible problem is that we have some ambiguous categories. We still have some staff members that call the 'skyscrapers' category the 'buildings' category, which creates some confusion when they get a skyscraper and a castle or house. We're working on this 'ambiguous categories' issue, which will take some months.
Here are the current categories:
* airplanes
* beverages
* birds
* boats
* cars
* castles
* cats
* clocks
* computers
* dogs
* flowers
* food
* houses
* insects
* locks_and_keys
* money
* musical_instruments
* outer_space
* people
* skyscrapers
* stained_glass
* telephones
* toys_and_games
* underwater
* wild_animals
* trains
Some customers have been confused by:
* Thinking 'skyscrapers' is 'buildings' and then getting a 'house' or 'castle'
* Thinking 'wild animals' is 'animals', and getting a 'cat' or 'dog' or 'insect' or fish in 'underwater'
Even when we have our 'category 2.0' solution, we won't force re-enrollment, so existing users may have a 'confusing bundle' until they change their categories manually.
If your want to change your categories, you can change them at https://myvidoop.com/account/categories (after logging in).

In an email to myvidoop-fb, Neil reported the following extensions. Disabling them did not help the problem go away: on https://myvidoop.com/, a message saying "Could not activate your myVidoop plugin. Please try again later.". We'll need to look in the database for further ideas.

I have a MBP 17", 10.4.11, 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. I downloaded FF 3, RC 2, and the plugin worked, but with no local password because of a known FF3 issue ( see https://myvidoop.com/help/issues-myvi...).
I deactivated and re-activated the browser, and it still worked.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the lastest plugin (1.0.7), and it still worked.
I'll get in touch with some of the other Vidoopers, and see if someone can dig deeper.
