Hi Neal,
Please can you email to help@iwantsandy.com with your email address — the one by which Sandy knows you — and I'll take a gander.

Gmail forwarding to Sandy doesn't work.
Sorry. It looks like I made a mistake. I tried to help out and cleaned up and reposted what somebody else wrote. I've never actually used Gamil to forward email to Sandy. Just today I tried to help Shazzer out, so I actually tired to get Gmail forwarding to work, but I couldn't. Maybe it used to work, but Sandy was changed...

I've been trying to set up a system like kevin1 suggested above, but I can't get Sandy to recognize the forwarded message as coming from an e-mail account that's connected to her. I've tested both my personal account (which allows for filtering and forwarding) and a gmail account, and struck out with both. Any further suggestions for making this work? – Shazzer, on August 31, 2008 08:32

I am looking at the login screen today (Aug 27th) using Firefox 3 on Windows XP.
The auth_token is there, but it is still asking me to login. This is frustrating that I need to authenticate every time I close and open my browser.

@Rael: I tried it too and it seems to be working, except in lists (multiple tasks in a single email). Is it possible that it does not work yet in that scenario?
@Aitese: you are asking Sandy to send multiple reminders for the same task, which does not seem to be supported at the moment. Maybe start a new discussion? – Olivier Gourment, on July 24, 2008 13:43

I just used this fir the first time with an actual upcoming meal, at first I exprerimented with the possibility of using the tag for multiple reminders:
Remind me about Cassie's meal at Ginny's in Bromley at 6pm 15th August @reminder 9pm 14th August @reminder 4pm 15th August
The outcome was totally borked:
I added these to your calendar:
#1 Fri, 15/8 6:00pm Cassie's meal at Ginny's in Bromley 4pm
- email reminder at 5:00pm
- tagged with @reminder
#2 Fri, 25/7 7:00am Cassie's meal at Ginny's in Bromley
- email reminder on Thu, 14/8 at 9:00pm
- tagged with @reminder
Maybe this IS possible but I'm doing it wrong? The idea was I needed to know to put some clothes out the night before, even shave perhaps as I usually trot off to work in the morning looking like a bum, but I still wanted reminding in the afternoon as I also rush out of the office like a kid at the end of school and would not get on the right route to the restaurant.
Is there a way to use multiple tags? I decided to tell Sandy to forget these first 2 and tried with just the evening reminder and the system works flawlessly, great work guys!

Hi Olivier. Sorry it took so long — sometimes this is the nature of these things and why we usually don't mention specifics about scheduling, etc. – Rael Dornfest, on July 24, 2008 06:32

This sounds promising. I am just wondering why it was said to be due 6 months ago? – Olivier Gourment, on July 24, 2008 02:04

Howdy Derek, Kevin1, and others interested in multiple email address!
Copying from an answer I just posted to http://getsatisfaction.com/iwantsandy... ...
We're definitely considering how best to structure this so as not to confuse anyone but also allow for greater flexibility for Sandy's power set.

I've heard that people have found a couple ways to workaround this limitation. They both involve having an email address that can use email filters and forwarding.
1) Set up a separate email account specifically for Sandy. This will be "her" email account. Make this account either the primary or secondary address that Sandy recognizes. Make a special name for it, maybe something like - YourFirstName.YourLastName.assistant@... (gmail is a good choice)
1b) If you already use an email address that can use filters and forwarding then you can use it instead of creating a new one.
2.) Set up filters on your email account. Make it so that emails from your various accounts will get forwarded to Sandy; and that emails from Sandy can be redirected to your other accounts. (This second part can get tricky, unless you simply forward everything to all of your other accounts.)
2b) You can also set up a filter for your cell phone, so you can send Sandy text messages. The test messages will get converted to an email by your carrier, and then sent to the "Sandy email account", which will then forward the email to Sandy.
Your cell phone's email address will be in the form of (your ten digit cell number@(carrierspecific domain)). (For example: Alltel: 4173490000@message.alltel.com Verizon: @vtext.com) Create a filter, choose "filter by - From:phone_email_address". Then set the filter to Forward all emails that match that description to Sandy.
3) From whatever email address you use, send your Sandy requests to the email account that you set up in step #1. (first.last.assistant@gmail.com)
4) This isn't a perfect solution. Replying to emails that Sandy sends may be a little problematic. You might have send a new email. Let us know how it works for you.

And thanks for that link Kevin, I didn't even know that was there www.iwantsandy.com/email . And no, Sandy isn't receiving the emails... I don't think its getting forwarded because this is definitely a Gmail issue but I have not gotten any help on it. – ThunderBoy, on July 18, 2008 20:57
