Same problem here. I'm accessing a Samba share from Mac OS X. Songbird does not scan/import new files.

I'm using the latest nightly build now. It doesn't skip as often. But, still does stutter/skip.

Stuttering/skipping while playing music

I keep my music collection on a shared drive on my LAN. When playing music over the network, Songbird always 'stutters'. I tried playing the same music/files with iTunes and a few other players, but the problem didn't arise. It only happens with Songbird.

I'm on a Mac ( OS X 10.5), my network has Macs, Windows and Linux PCs. I'm using Songbird 1.0. No additional plugins installed (except the ones out of the box).

I'm dying to ditch iTunes in favor of something open and better. Songbird seems like the answer. Please help me get there.
