I use Songbird to manage my huge library (more than 160 GB) but in order to sync with iPod I MUST use the crappy iTunes. ¿Reason? iTunes support sortByYear tag, very useful if you want to see the albums from an artist ordered by year not alphabetically.

please provide this functionality (and I'll be able to abandon crappy itunes)

Now playing or Selected, it's the same.

That's not the point.The artwork is inside the tag as I can see in iTunes, Mediamonkey, windows media or any other player. So I don't need to fetch the art again.

Tried AlbumArtPreferences but not solved

I've checked in iTunes and Mediamonkey and all my tracks are ok. Album art is filled in every song and correctly shown in any other program.

why the album art pane says: "Drag album art here"?

I connect ipod, songbird recognizes it, then keeps mounting ipod forever. The progress bar keeps moving without end, but I can't access my library or my ipod itself. seems to be Freezed.
Nor cancelling nor stopping avoid this. I got to close songbird via ctrl+alt+supr (terminating process that is locked) and then unplug ipod.

iTunes is not started. Just Songbird.

watchfolder not deleting tracks that no longer exist

I delete some folders inside my watchfolder and the tracks remain in the library. I got to delete by hand one by one to make them disappear.
Scanning again the watch folder did not resolved this issue.

Not exactly. What I mean is to use the iPod tags such like iPodAlbumSort. This tag allow iPod to sort albums by year. I dont' know if your point is the same.
Will songbird transfer this info to the ipod tags?

shuffle playing stops randomly

playing all my library in shuffle mode, and "no repeat" makes the player stops every 10 or 20 minutes.
It appears to stop randomly. Only clicking on "NEXT", resumes the playing again.

On every Songbird Startup, no matters if there is changed tracks or not, always a dialog is displayed: "There was a problem determining what media changed in your library since the last Songbird launch. Would you like Songbird to rescan your watch folder"
