This happens to me with my Android app, typically it has to do with foursquare having a hick up or being down. I always double check it because most of the time the checkin really did go thru. – Jon, on September 18, 2009 07:02 -

Well that's awesome to hear. I knew you had to have a system in play like that ... it just would have been common sense and now that I know you guys are even working on a better system that works of GPS thats great to hear. I actually was thinking about that after I posted this today "Why not do something based off GPS?" but that has way to many variables and logic in ... its going to be tough but please keep up the great work!
Now a follow up question. Does the double check in count as a mayor point? I just saw someone today take mayorship away from me because they checked in 3 minutes apart, they might have not gotten the points but they sure did get mayorship. – Jon, on September 18, 2009 07:00 -

Cheating by double checking in?It seems like it could be really easy for someone to play the game and cheat by double posting. I noticed that some people have double checked in within minutes of each checkin but it's not flagged as anything. They could easily take a mayorship by doing this.
Can't there be a check in the system where you can not check in to a location more then once within a period of time?
