It is easy to understand why this is upsetting. Unfortunately, having a repeat infringer policy where we terminate those in violation of our Terms of Use is essential to our ability to operate under the DMCA.

I appreciate all of the feedback, but unfortunately the policy can not be changed at this time.

We are, however, looking into streamlining the counter-notice policy so that uploaders have an easier and more direct route to dispute claims of infringement.

The reason for the Web Player install is that long-form videos are delivered over our P2P network. Naturally, this is done to reduce costs.

Other than number of installs and aggregate metrics on p2p efficiency, there is no additional tracking in the Web Player over what is in the Flash player on the website.

Yes, many users are turned away by the Web Player requirement but many enjoy watching long-form in the browser and downloading the high-quality original content file is an advantage too.

(For anyone who remembers stage6, they tried to have a long-form capable site without p2p and went out of business pretty quickly.)

You are most likely missing a codec to playback the video.

Popular codec packs include:

and
http://www.cccp-project.net/

These codec packs are not maintained by Veoh, but are are useful in playing back downloaded videos.

Safari 3+, IE 6+ and FF 3+ are all supported.

We'll be dropping support for IE 6 after Windows 7 launches.

We're looking at adjust the while email-notification and settings system.

We are integrating twitter and facebook and much of this will be reworked.

If the video is hosted by Veoh, in most cases it can be downloaded. Below the video is a "download" button. After installing the Web Player, just click download.

Please be aware that many videos from our content partners can not be downloaded as they stipulate web-viewing only.

This tool has the notion of being "Answered"

Most threads will get "Answered" but some won't because they are ambiguous or otherwise can't really be answered.

I think the real issue is management of the forum. The old forum really got disorganized. We are going to work to keep this one much more focused on being a tool for direct feedback from users.

We are currently developing a "Musician's Program" (current working feature name) which will enable users to get easier access to audio content on Veoh. As this feature is in active development, I can't yet put a date on when it will be available.

Including a player on the profile is not something we are currently considering but we can discuss it and see if it is of general interest to users.

At this time, we have no plans to support Opera. We currently support IE, FF and Safari. We'll support Chrome once their API is available.

We are in the process of adding complete support for Snow Leopard.

The previous build seemed to work fine in our initial tests, but a number of uses have reported problems.

Consider SL support 'tentative' at the moment and the next update will add full support.
