Maybe there's also room for a different kind of interface to a workflow -- instead of planning and drawing a workflow and then getting an email address or URL to work with, what about having an intelligent Dashboard widget as an interface?

Say you create a workflow with REST as the receptor. This workflow would be available to you via a URL, maybe assigned to your tarpipe presence, and your widget could look at it, see the inputs, and redraw its interface to account for it. It would when be able to be a user-friendly interface that either does actions or spits back out the result.

I think the most value from something like this would come from opening up the system to be publishing-centric, sure, but also have the ability to ping other webservices for info like weather, RSS content, etc. (kind of like Y!Pipes)

I'd love to see the ability to create connectors as part of the developer API.

It's risky, but it opens up the real power of the community to build groups of autonomous applications around the internet that all operate synchronously/asynchronously to produce a result.
