I, too, would like to see the option to have auto-spell-check in Twhirl. Some people don't want it, so the simple solution is to allow it to be turned on an off.
I understand the desire to have multiple languages supported, but that can't be too hard, right? I'm not a developer by any stretch of the imagination, but once you have the foundation of the code that actually executes the spell-checking, isn't it basically just a matter of having an option of relying on a different dictionary/language?
Anyway, it might not be the biggest fish you have to fry right now, but I would be pleased to see it.-

A comment on the idea "Add Auto Spell Check" in Seesmic:
If you're adding a spell checker, please give me the option to turn it off. At 140 characters, it just doesn't seem necessary and the words I need help with likely won't be there anyway. – Peter Fleck, on August 21, 2008 20:55-
