    JohnT
    Office 2008 Line Weight Problem
    Version: v.X
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
    Processor: Intel

    OFFICE FOR MAC 2008

In PowerPoint and Excel, if I choose/draw line weights that are less than 1pt, (i.e. 0.75pt, 0.5pt, 0.25pt,) it always prints out at never less than 1pt thickness. Above 1pt lines all print out at the designated thickness. Screen displays are unaffected, (i.e. viewed at 400%, different line weights are clearly visible).

However, when I create the same range of line weights in Word, the lines print out in the correct weights. I believe that this allows me to discount the possibility that my printer drivers may be the cause of the problem. Also a number of (Mac-based) colleagues using the same software are experiencing exactly the same problems – each is at a separate location and on different networks.

As I do a lot of diagrams/drawing using the finer line weights, this problem particulary renders PowerPoint of no use to me.

Has anybody out there got a solution – urgently needed.

    Thanks.
