For performance reasons, we "cache" event search results for up to 5 min, so at any given time it could take a full 5 minutes for it to show up, however it is usually going to be less.

The reason this is happening is that your browser is reporting as both MSIE 6.0 and MSIE 8.0. We have a fix in place that should fix the issue.

Due to the nature of this bug, the reason they were removed in 2.0 is because 1.9 was broke. 2.0 is now fixed, puts all the correct files in the correct places, so now when you turn off your phone they will not be lost. So yes, 2.0 should be fixed. Previously in older version when you'd reset your phone they would all be lost.

This was going to be fixed in 1.9 so that this wouldn't happen, however there was a bug in 1.9 that caused us to have to adjust things again therefor the re-download again. We are confident that it is now fixed, and is using our new offline files and shouldn't be an issue in the future.

So when we roll out 2.1, if all of our changes worked to how we've set them up to work, you will not have to download the versions anymore.

Also when you reset your phone, you should not lose your offline versions anymore.

It's the latest, since it's through GetJar you'll have to manually update for now, but if you follow our blog at blog.youversion.com you'll see when we update. The plan is to build a notification system into the app so that we can notify users when the app updates incase they downloaded it somewhere other than the Market.

It's been on the idea list for a while to have a standalone verse page for this reason with an easy way to jump and start reading the entire chapter, it just has never made it to the light yet.

That is a very old URL structure, how/where did you find that? We should have those redirecting correctly from the old structure but I guess something was missed.
