Will the driver have special hardware provided by skyhook or does loki application installed on any mobile phone with wifi do the job ? – viocudinti, on September 07, 2008 14:46
A comment on the question "Location Tuner not working outside USA" in Loki:
Hey Chris,
the SkyHookWireless submission page says to enter in an incorrect AP's MAC address, and it'll update it. So if you know it's your own AP you brought with you, resubmit that one to SkyHookWireless. – GregA, on September 04, 2008 07:11

Speaking of the location tuner, is there any way to access it in the latest version of the Mac extension for Firefox? I've tried submitting APs found via iStumbler at my new location, but Loki still thinks I'm 600+ miles away since it's apparently keying off the location of the AP I brought with me.

That answer is no good!! A user wont know the wireless access point(s) loki is trying to find...Indeed, in Australia (Perth) it find me but I am 14 miles away from where it wants. I used network stumbler to find at least 6 close access points, so from that, and from me knowing my own location (and submitting it to you in Location Tuner) you could have used that data to improve the Skyhooks (or your own) location database..
All you needed to do was allow out of US locations on your location tuner..
Why not?

We are always looking for new drivers -- the best way to check whether we are looking for drivers in your area is to submit an application at:

Jukka replied on May 05, 2008 20:23 to the question "How many wireless access points are registered to your DB in Europe, especially in Paris and the surrounding areas?" in Skyhook Wireless:
The coverage in Paris as well as in rest of the France is expanding fast. You can check the most current coverage area at:
http://skyhookwireless.com/howitworks...
If you are within the blue area you should be able to get your location returned.
