jule_ asked a question in Songbird on April 13, 2009 19:03:
how to (re)scan the watched folder for changes? When does Songbird check for new or deleted files and folders? Is there any way to manually initiate that process?
I have my music library on a Samba-shared drive in my network. My watched folder in Songbird is "\\192.168.1.222\music".
When I add a new folder to this watched folder, Songbird does not include the mp3s of that new folder to the library.
When I delete a folder in my watched folder, Songbird still keeps the references to those deleted mp3s and can't play then (because they do not exist anymore).
Is there a way to rescan the watched folder (without removing and readding the whole watched folder)?

What do you mean by "special Date"?
What's your operating system's language?

I think we have the same problem.
jule_ asked a question in Songbird on April 09, 2009 16:51:
smart playlists with date on non-english operating systemsI am migrating from iTunes to Songbird.
In iTunes, whenever I added a couple of new Albums to my library, I used to create a smart playlist with a condition like this "date added - is - [today's date]". This way I have all my newly added songs in a playlist and can easily listen to them, e.g. on my iPod.
When I try to do that in Songbird, I get the weirdest behavior on my german operating system (Windows XP Pro):
As soon as I select "Date Added" from the condition dropdown, the field on the right side is filled with today's date. Then (I guess) some localization component converts this date (e.g. 04/09/2009) to the german date syntax, which is DD.MM.YYYY. So the input field automatically has the value "09.04.2009".
But that is obviously not a correct value for some other Songbird component, because the input field now has a red background and the OK Button of the dialog is inactive (not clickable).
If I manually change the input value to literally "09/04/2009", the red background disappears and the OK button is clickable again.
If I then close the dialog, the smart playlist is empty (does not contain any files).
If I "Edit Properties" the smart playlist it does not contain any condition at all (no wonder there are no songs in it).
My question: Is there any way (e.g. by tuning some about:config lines) to hack around this bug? e.g. by deactivating the feature of automatically using the operating systems date syntax (I could live with a date format MM/DD/YYYY in Songbird)?
The bug appears with enabled and disabled "German (de) Language Pack 1.1.2.1239065326" and I am using Songbird 1.1.2 build 1042.
