Disable I have this problem buttonThere is a fundamental work flow problem I would like to discuss with @satisfaction:
The "I have this problem button" is a nice thing to aggregate problems of users, but it doesn't help me much as a company employee.
For example: http://getsatisfaction.com/zemanta/to...
Has 11 "I have this problem too" answers. People click it once in a while, but:
- I get no email / notification of that
- No way to track the frequency of the clicks. Are these 11 from a year ago or have 3 people clicked this week?
and most importantly:
- it's a solved question. If someone clicks the button, there is a bigger problem somewhere and they should open a new topic. But there is no way for me to reach out to them or say: "Hej, if you think this is a problem for you - _open a new topic_"
In nutshell:
- these users / community members are invisible to me - ghosts
- I have no idea if my answers helped them
- no way to further reach out to them and make sure we really fixed it for them or that it even is a same problem

Asking an extra question when starting a topicI noticed that at some point, Get Satisfaction own Satisfaction forum asked me for extra email address, but I can't find that anymore.
What I would like to do is to ask our users what their blog address is. I can do so much better tech support if I know where the users blog is located because then I don't have to ask extra questions. Right now a lot of answers starts with me asking "what's your blog address?".
It would be an optional field and I'm happy with it being visible only to company employees.

Henry, very interesting. So we already include two similar databases:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/
http://www.itis.gov/
We would be very much interested in talking with different providers about integrating more of their content into Zemanta and how we could help each other.
Probably the best way to continue this discussion would be over email. If you can send your email address to bostjan@zemanta.com and he'll be able to make further steps towards adding this functionality to Zemanta.
Thanks for sharing your idea!
