A comment on the problem "Linux doesn't work" in Filtrbox, Inc:
Did you verify the install from the Plug-ins menu on Firefox? I really wish there was a simpler way to install Flash, because not only does our app require flash, but it uses SSL, which then you must manually download libraries used by flash - which is the descriptions above. I know Adobe is working towards better supporting the Linux platform, and in time there might be a better solution. – Justin, on October 07, 2008 21:01

Tested on Ubuntu 8 - Flash does not support SSL connection on Linux, in order for SSL to work, a support file must be added to the Lib directory, the process is as follows:
1. Ensure you have the latest versions of the automake, libssl-dev, and libicu-dev packages. For example, from the command line:
* sudo apt-get install automake libssl-dev libicu36-dev
2. Download the latest version of the flashsupport project from Sourceforge. For example, from the command line:
* wget http://downloads.sourceforge.net/flas...
3. Extract the contents of the tar file. For example, from the command line:
* tar xvf flashsupport-9.0.1.tgz
4. Build the flashsupport library.
ex:
* cd flashsupport
* sh configure
* sudo make install
5. In my case, flashsupport files are installed under /usr/local/lib. Copy libflashsupport.so to /usr/lib.
ex.
sudo cp /usr/local/lib/libflashsupport.so /usr/lib

There seems to be a bug in the overall flash Linux player that is causing this problem. I have replicated your environment and have run into the same problem. There are already bug reports at adobe concerning this problem. I will stay updated with any resolutions, but in the mean time i am trying new methods in hopes of finding a solution. At this current point i must say that the dashboard is not supported in Linux, but i hope to have an alternative soon. Please contact me directly - justin@filtrbox.com for comments, and i would appreciate your help in working through this problem. Thank you.

Justin replied on July 17, 2008 20:44 to the question "FF2 Google Alert authentication" in Filtrbox, Inc:
Our support for importing Filtrs from Google Alerts has been limited to testing in basic Google accounts. Users that have multiple Google services have shown that their is an extra layer of security settings that are applied and thus is not open to Filtrbox. If you would like to contact me directly at justin@filtrbox.com, i can try and assist you more, but this is a subject that we are actively pursuing to finding an answer. Thank you for using Filtrbox and please contact me directly if you have any other questions. Thanks
