hotoru started following the question "Is my data safe with Mint?" in Mint.
hotoru replied on October 01, 2008 01:11 to the question "Is my data safe with Mint?" in Mint:
I have the same concerns. I appreciate that mint states it does not store my personal information. But, I do not feel they explain fully exactly how they are able to retrieve information from my banks and credit card companies if they do not store any information. If they have any ability to read information from my bank then any hacker that gained access to their system would have the same capabilities.

We approve of your use of the Invader Zim security gnome for a Twitter icon. Also, thanks for the suggestion about the back button. We believe in the future you won't NEED back buttons.
Actually that's not true at all. We're working on improving the UX of our charting features, and this is one of the areas we're exploring. Please spare the puppies.

That sounds terrible. Can you email your username (the address you use to log in to Mint) to justin@mint.com?
Thanks, and sorry for the trouble.

Scott,
I know this is a hack, but you can access Mint from the iPhone today, it's just the current site running on Safari, so most things work with the exception of the Flash components on spending trends.

We are indeed working on a real solution, but maybe this will work for now? Also you can subscribe to the text message alerts so you get balances sent every Friday.
Let me know how it goes,
Jason

yeah, the iphone thing is crucial. with apple's recent push into the mobile wireless enterprise realm the iphone/ipod touch will be as ubiquitous as a blackberry. combine that with their push to high school and college kids (even going so far as to give ipod touches for free with purchases made for school) and it is requisite for mint to have an app available. i would even forgive them for stealing (borrowing) functionality that is currently being used by their competitors (pageonce, etc.).
