Agree fully with Anthony's point about Lightning. Frankly, I'm at my wit's end with the many problems trying to get this to work with Google Calendars, both through iCal via the provider, and CalDav. Simply put, Lightning needs a lot more work to get it to a basic level of reliable usability; at the moment I can't even trust that it provides an accurate display of what's contained in my Google Calendars, let alone try & modify an event or set an alarm. And that's quite apart from the issue with Tasks (local), which have never worked properly from day one.
These problems have been with PostBox/Lightning since Lightning first appeared on the scene and there doesn't seem to be any meaningful response by the developers to fix things, in spite of the numerous problem tickets raised by myself & others.
The core of PostBox is great, and in my experience does the mail bit better than all other email clients I've used til now. But - and this is the point - PB has been sold to the public partly on the basis that it integrates and works with Lightning, so there is a responsibility on PostBox's part to ensure that what they've decided to integrate with, actually does work. It DOES reflect badly on PostBox that this is not the case, and you guys at PostBox really need to sort these issues out now before the reputation really starts to build that PB/Lightning is another just another half-finished and flaky open-source app.-

Google calendars only appearing intermittently in LightningThe Events for all my Google Calendars which are setup to be pulled down into Lightning only appear intermittently now. It's seems that since installing v1, whenever I launch PostBox, Lightning goes through a minute or so of pulling down Google Calendars data then refreshing the display, and when this process ends no Events are displayed (50-75% of the time now), just a blank Lightning Calendar, which necessitates repeated PostBox restarts to try to clear the problem. Also happens after updating an Event, and PostBox attempts a GC data refresh. Does anyone have any suggestions how to fix this, or are we looking at a bug? Thanks...

I've restarted a number of times, yesterday & today, tho the problem has been intermittent for a week or so. At the moment none of my saved searches that target Topics, and all but 2 that target dates, are working. And I still have the blank 'select folders to search' field in all save searches properties. I can send you screen shots if you wish?

Saved Searches are all broken in v1.0.1.Saved Searches are broken in v1.0.1. I've 10 saved searches and none are now updating themselves at all, they all seem to be broken. When I look at the properties for each and 'Select the folders to search' this field is completely blank in each Saved Search. I notice there's a few other posts along this line, so there's obviously a problem here that need resolving. This is really disappointing to me as I was starting to use these as my main method of keeping track of new mail, mail that needed a response etc, without having to trawl through local folders all the time every day, so I hope this can be fixed pretty quick?

Go, Save & Copy prevents input into alternative Google Search homepageIf I change the Postbox homepage to something like Google Search, I can't type 'g', 's' or 'c' into the Google search box without Postbox interpreting this as a command to kick off Go, Save or Copy in the status bar. How do I turn this off?
Thanks...
A comment on the idea "Show only unread messages" in Postbox, Inc.:
Not being able to view ALL unread messages once filtered to sub-folders was a big problem; this saved search idea works well for me....thanks! – kackac, on September 28, 2009 15:12

I also find this annoying. I want to have just one master address book on my computer and many of my contacts don't have email addresses, just names & numbers. I'd like to just use PostBox address book but I shouldn't be forced into inventing an email address just so I can keep a contact's details. Never seen this before in an address book, its pointless and should be removed.
