    I was charged the $1.13 from APL*MOBILME on 11/8/09. I have an Ipod.. that's it. I don't even have a subscription to the Itunes store. So I called 1-800-692-7753. They transfered me around a little bit, but they were very helpful. I was able to tell the guy what had happened, he put my debt card into into their system, but he even said that that number and my name were not in their system. That clearly, I am not a subscriber to MobilMe. He also expressed that the charge is very strange because MobilMe usually takes out a yearly subscription fee of $99. It might be a third party checking to see if my debt card number works.

    Luckily, I work for the bank I use! So I was able to call my boss and cancel my card. THIS IS WHAT I HAVE LEARNED! If you see a charge on your account that says VISA (or whatever card you use), it means someone has a hold on your card number and you need to cancel your card and get a new one. It doesn't necessarily mean you have to change your bank account number. That can be a hassle, especially if you need to order new checks for your new number. HOWEVER. If there is an unknown charge from your account that is an ACH (direct w/draw or deposit) or a phone charge, that means someone has a hold of your actual account number and you need to change your account. Luckily, I've caught this problem early.. hopefully all of you can too.
