Can I get an Events feed? Can a feed be generated from the events application so that they can be streamed through a blog? I can see having feeds for 1)All states for a particular category 2) For category x state and 3)All categories x state, also.

Who is included in the interested, joined, and leadership listserves?Does anyone know who I'm emailing to via the CoP listserves: interested, joined, and leadership? I thought I ran across this info. last week, but can't find it now. If I email something to interested, do joined and leadership get it too?
I've been assuming that I need to email all 3 groups for CoP wide announcements in the past, but if "interested" covered "joined" and "leadership" too, then sending it to just one would be better. Thanks!

Graphed reports of community activity? Is there a simple way to see a graphed report of your community joined or interested activity? I'm looking to see if I can see some trends (joining surges) based on some potential community events.
Do we have google analytics running on the people app?

About blog post feed makes me choose an application, why?Why do I have to choose an application to download the RSS About blog (about.extension.org) posts feed ? I would like to add the blog post from the about blog and run in through our community of practice blog, but when I click on the link it asked me to choose an application to run it with.
This has been happening frequently with other feeds I've tried to download as well. Sometimes it happens and other times it doesn't. Do I need some kind of plug in to open the page to the rss URL?
A comment on the question "Can you batch invite people through the people application?" in eXtension:
Yes, that is what it was:"queued for delivery" Thanks, I didn't know what that meant - in terms of how long it would be "held" for...I can wait for 5 minutes. :) – karenj, on June 04, 2009 15:35
A comment on the question "Can you batch invite people through the people application?" in eXtension:
I thought this was the case, but the note after inviting each person says that it is holding it for some reason...I didn't write it down, but it did say something to the effect that it was verifying or holding the account after the invitation. I may have one more person to invite soon, so I'll make note of exactly what is says then. Thanks. – karenj, on June 04, 2009 14:29

Can you batch invite people through the people application? Can you do batch invitations of colleagues/volunteers in people/extension.org? I just spent way too much time copying and pasting 14 people's addresses with the same Email note. I would have loved to have send one note to those 14 email addresses.
Also, if I invite them through people.extension.org, what is the typical turn around time for holding their ID for approval - is that done by other CoP members of the eXtension team?
Thanks!
A comment on the question "Can Get Satisfaction be used as a discussion forum among our Communities?" in eXtension:
I think the section under CoP, News, Connections, and Conversations is too wordy...I should probably take out some of the description and just leave the links. ( sorry, Is it weird that I reply to myself?) – karenj, on April 30, 2009 16:27

Sue Hawkins and I had some thoughts about how we could make the CoP wiki page a bit more hub-like with information that would help people get oriented within the CoP space Does anyone have input if they like this? or what would you do differently? You can add comments here or on the discussions tab on the article itself.

karenj asked a question in eXtension on April 22, 2009 18:11:
Wiki discussion notifications. Some of us CoP members were talking about finding conversations, which led to talk about the discussions tab in the wikis (CoP, collaborate). We would probably be more likely to use them if it were more visible there was a discussion behind the article.
Would it be a tall order to figure out a way where we could more easily see which articles had discussions behind them? The assumption by many is that there are rarely discussion going on behind the articles, so they give up looking after awhile.
I imagine 2 ways (probably integrating both) that I think could be helpful:
1)Something like the little envelope on Flickr that appears when there is an untouched discussion
2) A discussion status report page on all discussions in a certain category (so you could put the link on your CoP homepage for others to see as they are coming in.
I realize you could put some kind of template: {{discussion horticulture}}, but that would be one more step people would probably not follow, so I'm wondering if there is something we could do more automated.
Is there anything that would be easy to try? This is kind of an idea stub.... just wondering if there is anywhere we can go with this?
