Hey Samer,
Thanks for your feedback.
Concerning the "My Channels" issue, we are indeed considering the idea of letting the user explore the result space for a specific search, before creating a new channel out of those results. We've noticed, as you did, that many searches are tentative and are not meant to be preserved.

Quest #1 -- Watch AlephTVThis first Quest is like basic training -- making sure you know your way around the AlephTV interface.
Here are your instructions:
* Visit AlephTV at http://alephtv.com
* Choose a featured channel
* Watch some videos
* Play and pause the video
* Adjust the volume +/-
* While watching a video, skip to next video
Report back on what you find, any difficulties you have and anything that's not clear.
In particular:
Was it easy to do all the tasks above?
Did they all work?
How did you do them -- with the mouse, keyboard, another way?
Thank you!

Karim Ratib asked a question in AlephTV on July 06, 2009 21:37:
Can I use my remote control with AlephTV on Linux?Yes, you can! Some assembly required, of course...
For the sake of simplicity, we assume you're running Ubuntu (Intrepid or later) and using an Apple Remote. Setting up other remotes should be similar:
- Install Apple Remote support for your Ubuntu installation
- Run xev from the console
- While the xev window is open, press the 6 Apple Remote buttons
- The console should print KeyPress and KeyRelease events. For each button, note the keycode that is reported by xev.
- Edit ~/.Xmodmap with the following template. Replace the keycodes with the ones you noted above.
- Add the command
xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap
to your startup programs (System > Preferences > Sessions > Add)
Here's the .Xmodmap template:
keycode 172 = space
keycode 147 = Return
keycode 123 = Up
keycode 122 = Down
keycode 167 = Right
keycode 166 = Left
- Install Apple Remote support for your Ubuntu installation
