Maybe a quick explanation of the reminder logic is in order:
* A single reminder will automatically repeat forever. There is no need to change a reminder, unless you want to change the interval with which the reminder will repeat.
* The only way to stop the reminder from being active (either by reminding you after adding a gas entry, hiding the red number on the app icon, or making the little orange symbols by the names go away) is to enter a service entry of that type.
* So if an Oil Change reminder went off, the proper course of action is to tap New Service, select Oil Change, and tap Save.
(You can also delete the reminder completely, but then you won't be reminded)
Does this explanation help?

karlbecker asked a question in Microsoft Hohm on July 12, 2009 19:50:
How to encourage my energy company to sign upHow do I get my local energy companies - both gas and electricity - to supply data to Hohm?
I'm in the second largest city in Iowa, so certainly not rural, but not in a large metropolitan area.
Has anyone successfully petitioned to get their company to sign up for this or a similar service?

Thanks for the thorough report on this bug. I will be sure to address it in the next version of Car Care.
If you could email me directly the data around this error, by doing an email export from the app, to my carcare@karlbecker.com email address, it would help me troubleshoot this bug.
Thanks,
Karl

This is a limitation with the iPhone in general - there is no easy way to pluck files off the device or from a backup. A quick Google did turn up one way, but it will require a bit of effort:

With some work it looks like you can get it directly from the restore files on your computer. However, I have not done this, and I don't think Apple really provides an 'official' way to access or decode these archive files.
Sorry to not be more help, but eliminating the primary and secondary ways to recover data - email export from the app or restoring your entire iPhone from an iPhone backup - makes it very difficult. Perhaps the google link will help?
