karlbecker set one of karlbecker's replies as an official response to "What formats of data can be imported?" in KB Productions
karlbecker replied on January 08, 2009 19:27 to the question "What formats of data can be imported?" in KB Productions:
CSV files can be imported, yes. Try it out at the Car Care import webpage before you buy Car Care to format your data for the import webpage properly: if you've done it correctly, you should get a vehicle code and password at the end.
Car Care import webpage: http://www.karlbecker.com/carcare/imp...
One note: currently, comma-separated files do not support "quoted" literals, so you cannot put a quote around some text that contains a comma. Example:
Valid input:
Odometer,Entry Type,Notes
1045,Gas,New York NY
Invalid input:
Odometer,Entry Type,Notes
1045,Gas,"New York, NY"
The import webpage will look at that and say "oh, there are four items on this line, not three." I plan to change this in the future, but for now that's how it behaves.

karlbecker replied on January 08, 2009 03:32 to the question "Acknowledge the Marauder" in KB Productions:
Let's help the Marauder get its time in the spotlight. You can add the Marauder, or any other model, or even any other make, by tapping the "+" in the upper-right corner while adding a new vehicle, as pictured.
If you have an existing auto that you want to change to a custom make or model, pretend to add a new Auto, then add your make and model, but cancel adding the auto when selecting the year. Then you can use your newly-created make or model when tapping Edit Auto Info.
Will this make your Marauder happy?

I just got your email.... I attached the image of what I'm seeing. Seems to be correct: You had an oil change at 86744 with a date of today, and your latest entry was 87112. That's 368 miles driven... and it's showing the next service is in 6 months or 5000 - 368 = 4632 miles.
Are you seeing something different?

Strange. If you could email export the entries to the support email, carcare@karlbecker.com , I will try to reproduce it. Does closing and reopening the app fix it at all?

Use the email export to back up your data. To do this, tap on your auto, then tap "Email entries." The following screenshot is from the upcoming version 1.20:

Email the entries to yourself. If you need to import them in the future, use the form at

Welcome to the Car Care support pageWelcome to the Car Care support page on Get Satisfaction. I am the author, Karl Becker, and I would like to provide support to Car Care users. Also, please let me know if there are any things you would like to see change or be improved with the app - I have many improvements in development, and I would like to hear your thoughts!
