I feel this does have some use in Plurk itself – whilst largely useless as an initial Plurk, it could potentially be useful in responses; as it stands there's no particularly good way to signify that your thought didn't fit into 140 characters – effectively, exactly the same reason it'd be useful for Twitterbot (especially given that Twitter's character limit is technically 160, versus Plurk's 140)

On the flip side, by the its very nature of providing some obvious way to continue a long response, it could easily remove some of the motivation to actually keep your messages under 140 characters, which I would not consider to be positive.

(Tangentially, under OS X, ... is alt-;)

Muted plurks are not removed from "responded", so that wouldn't work.

There is a cap of a few hundred plurks (I forget the exact figure), which is enough for almost everyone to go back a significant period of time - if there are more than that, they will unfortunately be lost. :(

We do see what you say here - however, we have Get Satisfaction around primarily for users to help eachother (the extent to which this actually happens appears to vary). If you want to contact us directly, we currently prefer you to use the form at http://www.plurk.com/contact - this is both easier for us to manage and enables us to avoid requesting information that users inevitably forget here (such as their Plurk username, web browser, etc.)

Well, that confirms my suspicion as to the root cause of this bug – effectively, it's a bug in the Pre's browser (rooted in a bug in RFC 2616 that was corrected in an errata a few years ago).

Fixing the bug without losing the expected (and useful) behaviour from other phones that support the feature as expected is impossible without handling the Pre differently to all other browsers. I will look into whether this is worth doing.

This problem refers to a single plurk on the user's timeline. If you find kevincent's plurks objectionable, you do not have to read them. If you are following him, you may stop doing so by vising his profile and clicking "Don't follow KEV is IN's plurks" or "Remove KEV is IN as a friend".

The rate of karma decrease does decrease when you have a very high levels of karma, though it remains true that it will take you a day (or, if you have near-100 karma, up to two days) to recover from a single karma drop.

This system as-is behaves reasonably well – if you plurk frequently (at least once or twice per day), you will reach 100 and stay there, otherwise you will tend to hover around 96/97 (speaking from experience).

I've seen this problem, but actually reproducing it is difficult. I'll see if I can do something about it.

In the meantime, try clicking the "plurk page" link in the corner. This link will be accurate, though it won't auto-refresh. I realise this is very annoying; sorry.

Karma froze for a day or so, so it was reporting what had happened during the last update (over 24 hours ago). Thos problem has since been fixed, and karma updates should be taking place as usual.

Can you give an example of a link to an image that doesn't work properly? It must have an appropriate extension (.jpg, .png, etc.) and not have a question mark after this. For instance, http://example.com/image.jpg would work, but http://example.com/image would not, and http://example.com/image.jpg?v=0 would not.
