Dallas Brown replied on June 24, 2009 06:49 to the question "updates" in HashBang Industries:
iDeskCal normally updates every 15 minutes.
The last update changed this to daily, but we will be going back to 15 minutes in the upcoming update.
Maintenance releases (1.0.x, 1.5.x, etc.) and minor feature updates (1.1, 1.2, 1.5, etc.) are free of charge. Major upgrades (2.0, 3.0, etc.) are free if you purchased the previous version within two months of the new release. Existing users will have the ability to take advantage of an upgrade discount.

That title bar shows when you have selected 'Make Dragable and Resizeable' from within the preferences.
This option is not meant to stay on and instead just be used to quickly reposition iDeskCal.
The latest version adds a check that makes sure this doesn't stay on.
You can download the latest version by selecting 'Check for Updates' from the top menu bar (very top of the screen)

I am sorry you are having a problem.
If you can not get to the menu to quit the program, you can try opening Activity Monitor from within Applications -> Utilities. That program should show you a list of everything that is running, and you can simply click on the iDeskCal line and click on the big red 'Quit Process' button.
I would love to get some more information from you though on your problem.
You say that the menu will not open. Can you explain what is happening?
Do you not see the menubar icon or dock icon (depending on how you set it up), or do you see it but nothing happens when you click on it?
If you are using the dock icon you get to the menu as if it was a normal program. By clicking on the dock it should activate the normal program menus at the top of the screen next to the Apple logo.
Thanks

Dallas Brown replied on June 06, 2009 12:50 to the question "Can't bring to front" in HashBang Industries:
This is the intended design. iDeskCal is designed to sit on your desktop almost as part of your wallpaper, and allow you to interact with your desktop just like normal. You can place folders over top of it, etc.
With this, there is no way to bring your wallpaper to the front of the screen.
Instead of hitting a key or button to bring it to the front, I would recommend using the Show Desktop - Expose command (on the newest Apple keyboards use Command and the Expose key)
This will temporarily clear your desktop and show you your calendar.

I am sorry about this. It looks like you found a bug.
I have filed a bug report about this.
Please download the version at:
http://hashbangind.com/files/iDeskCal...
Replace your current version with this new one and when you start iDeskCal it should show the dock icon for you again.
Sorry again about this, and thank you for pointing this out.

Should be able to move that file into dropbox and then setup a sym link back to the normal location. That is what I do with other apps and it works great. – Dallas Brown, on May 31, 2009 20:46
