Kevin Dwinnell replied on November 20, 2009 02:37 to the question "I can't switch to the traditional Christmas theme as listed in the pick a boom tutorial. Why does mine not give me the option to change between Christmas and Traditional Christmas themes?" in Brand Thunder:
Jenni:
You will get the option very soon, hopefully tomorrow. You've identified a glitch/oversight on our part. In preparation for the update to our Christmas theme, we updated the tutorial forgetting that the current live product would point to the same tutorial.
Hopefully, you'll think of it as a sneak preview. :-) When we push the new version (I believe it's slated for tomorrow), you should get an "update" reminder from Firefox. Accept the update and you'll have the new option.
Sorry for the confusion.

OK, this should not be happening. Sorry to ask for more details but we need to troubleshoot quickly and this info will help.
What version of Firefox are you running? What operating system are you using? What other Firefox extensions are you running (if it's a long list, this may help get it to us https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire...)?
Appreciate the additional help.

Joe:
Sorry, you're right. I didn't follow through on this appropriately.
I do have another question. Would you be willing to install this extension:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire...
To get us a list of all your extensions? Or let us know what you're extensions running.
In Canvas, a Boom! that adds photos to your browser, we've seen some collision points with some graphically oriented extensions. This shouldn't happen but does and then it's a matter of finding the problem spot and resolving. With that list, we can start the troubleshooting process.
No idea how long a fix might take, but I know we are starting to look at the LFG code, so timing would be good.
Kevin Dwinnell replied on October 21, 2009 23:21 to the question "Canvas doesn't display anything" in Brand Thunder:
A "blank canvas" is not our intended goal. Sorry to hear, this is definitely non-standard behavior.
Some additional details would help our developers. What OS are you running and what version of Firefox? Any other themes, or Personas or visual-type extensions that you think might create a collision? Finally, a screen shot is always helpful.
The more details we have, the better chance we have to recreate the issue. Thanks for reporting it and sorry again about the experience so far.

Kevin Dwinnell replied on October 05, 2009 22:49 to the question "My pictures only show up when I am using Firefox's Walnut theme. They will not show up on the Default or any other themes." in Brand Thunder:
We're starting to see some collision points with other extensions. Most frequently if both Personas and Canvas are running they both try to sit in the same space and that causes problems. The unfortunate work around is to uninstall Personas. I'm not sure if this is the same thing with the Walnut theme, that somehow it's linked with Canvas and vying for the same resources.
We are going back to the QA labs to do a deeper dive on why and where the conflicts are occurring. If you'd like to share the extensions you're running, that'd be a big help.
Sorry you're encountering a problem.
Kevin Dwinnell replied on August 18, 2009 23:27 to the question "Adding space for pictures??" in Brand Thunder:
In the Tutorial http://brandthunder.com/canvas/firstr... we have this suggestion:
More Space for MY-PIX:
If you want more vertical space for your photos, try adding an "empty" toolbar. Right-click on the Canvas toolbar, Select "Customize" and then Click "Add New Toolbar." Name the toolbar, then Click "OK" and a blank toolbar will appear. You must add at least one icon from the menu, do this by Clicking an icon, then Drag and Drop it in the blank toolbar. Repeat to add even more vertical space or Click "Done." To remove, go to Customize again and Click "Restore Default Set" and the extra toolbars will disappear.
That should remain each time you restart. We're looking at a more elegant solutions in our next version, hopefully this will suffice in the mean time.
A comment on the question "Canvas - What features would you like to see added or changes should be made? Your input is extremely valuable." in Brand Thunder:
Brandon: Thanks for the feedback, and we are trying to solve the technical issues that would allow us to offer that feature.
In the meantime, there are some workarounds that can be found in our Tutorial and FAQ.
In the Tutorial http://brandthunder.com/canvas/firstr..., scroll to the bottom of that page for some creative solutions.
In our FAQ (http://brandthunder.com/canvas/faq.php), we have this info: With all the flexibility of positioning, tiling and adding color, you can create very unique and cool experiences. To create an image that'll fit into the browser theme with little adjustment, try using an image 200 pixels high and anywhere from 1,500 to 3,000 pixels wide. The width is variable depending on how wide you keep your browser. If you don't have a photo or image editor, try some of the free options on the web like Picnik, http://www.picnik.com/.
I hope one of these works for you, until we can simplify the process. – Kevin Dwinnell, on August 12, 2009 22:53
Kevin Dwinnell replied on August 05, 2009 16:09 to the update "Brand Thunder Unveils “Canvas” and the Ability to Add Any Photo or Image to Your Browser Theme with Just a Click" in Brand Thunder:
Hmm... Try right clicking in the browser area where toolbars normally appear and see if one of Brand Thunder's toolbars are listed there, but not checked. If so, click it to enable it.
If that's not the issue, then information like OS and Firefox version number will help and a screen shot would be useful as well. Then one of our developers can help out.

Kevin Dwinnell replied on June 07, 2009 01:33 to the question "I do not know where the 'manage' button is!!!?!?!?" in Brand Thunder:
It should be next to the Web Search box in the toolbar. If you're not seeing the toolbar, try right-clicking in the area the toolbar would be. It should reveal a list of toolbars and checkmarks will be next to the active ones. Look and see if Canvas is check marked, if it doesn't have a checkmark - click on it.
Otherwise, please send us a screen shot and our developers can take a look.
Also, it'd help in either case to get the browser version and OS.
Sorry for the extra steps, but this will help us recreate the issue and fix it.
