hi dori - if you write a private entry nobody sees it, not even us at diary.com. we only see it as a <private> (entry on the database which we don't look at) and not the content of the entry. This is because private journal entries are confidential and for your eyes only. If you add a public blog everyone can see it as it goes on your profile page. We are redesigning the profile page to be clearer and easier to use and also easier for your friends to see what you are doing. We'll update you to all of these changes soon. Hi Dori, Thanks for your message, we've had some comments about adjusting to the new site and how to use it and we are responding to these comments. We are going to make it easier to share journal entries and events with friends. To share journal entries just click on Journal tab and the 'Public Blog' then write or add pictures and post. This will then get added to your profile where your friends can see your latest journal updates or public events. We will be working on the profile page to make it easier and more fun. You can invite friends at the top of the page with 'invite friends'. There will be lots of improvements and updates coming really soon but please send me more comments you have. Thanks for continuing to use Diary.com

We're very very sorry but we experienced a freak outage as a result of our Database blowing and taking down the whole site AND losing the previous sessions worth of data.

We're very very sorry about this and have worked hard to stop this happening again. We're 110% confident this wont happen again.
