A comment on the problem "Adapter error message...no battery charging" in Dell:

I have seen numerous other posts regarding other models and they are mentioning some sort of small plastic piece where the port is supposed to be attached to the motherboard. Could this be the issue with my model? – Kenlee, on June 09, 2009 15:17

I have the Inspiron 1525 that keeps saying adapter cannot be recognized at startup and it will NOT charge the battery. I tried to go update BIOS but it says I can't until I get at least 10% battery life, which I am at 0%. There is no damage to the port or the plug or the adapter. I am using the adapter that came with the laptop. I just got this laptop in Dec as a graduation present. Please help.
