Kenn Wilson reported a problem in Barton Springs Software on September 17, 2008 01:04:
URLs eaten in photo descriptionsWhen uploading images, I frequently include links in my descriptions. When I do, I find that the "http:" is being replaced with a single hash mark, and I've got an extraneous quote mark at the end of the href value.
This is what I'm posting (well, it's an example):
<a href="http://www.google.com/">test link</a>
And this is what I'm getting on Flickr:
<a href="#//www.google.com/”">test link</a>
I've already trashed my preferences in an attempt to fix my problem with tags and descriptions randomly being eaten and it had no effect on this bug. I can reproduce this with 100% consistency on two computers.

I'm having this same problem, which has plagued me since day one. Sometimes tags are saved, sometimes they aren't, and sometimes only some of them are.
I read the above and deleted my preferences file. This appeared to work for my first couple test images with titles and no descriptions. I then tried one with a title, description, and tags, and the description wasn't saved. I tried again and the description was saved but not the tags. So this is pretty random, and doesn't appear to have been fixed by trashing the prefs file.
I'm using Photonic 1.0.1 on OS X 10.5.4. When entering tags in Photonic, the completion works, showing me a list of existing tags, and the tag highlights in blue once I've selected it (aside: how about supporting quoted tags with spaces the way Flickr does?)
I'd be happy to go through whatever steps you think might give you more info about the problems, as it's fairly maddening having to do all my tags manually every time, after paying for the application. Anything to get this working properly.-
