Kershnee replied on October 20, 2009 10:20 to the question "Border around Text" in Yola:
Hi there,
You can add a border to text in a text widget by using a bit of html code. Here is how it is done:
1. Drag a text widget onto the page
2. Click on the HTML icon located on the Edit Toolbar
3. Paste in this code
<div style="width:400px;height:211px;border:2px solid red;">This is where your text goes</div>
This specific piece of code is set to have a width of 400px, a height of 211px, a border of 2px and a solid red color. You can change the various attributes to make it whatever size, width and color you would like.

Kershnee replied on October 19, 2009 10:48 to the question "moving elements between pages" in Yola:
Hi There,
If you ever need to copy all the elements of a page, you can quickly do so using the Save As feature. Duplicating a page is also sometimes a wise action to take, before making any significant changes to it. That way you will not have lost any of your work if something goes wrong, or you simply don't like the changes you've made. You can always delete the copy, and your original page will still be there to go back to.
Here's how you do it:
1. Navigate to the page you want to copy
2. On the Yola toolbar, click on the down-arrow next to the "Save" button.
3. Choose "Save Page As"
5. The "Save Page As" dialog box will pop-up asking you to name your new page, (and give you the chance to change the page heading, and decide whether or not to include the new page in your menu).
6. Click "OK" and you're done. The newly created page will now appear up in the Page drop-down arrow of page choices, so you can go back to it again if you chose not to include it in your menu.

Hi Neil,
We would really like to help you resolve this issue. Can you please post the URL of your site. Can you also tell us what browser and browser version you are using? If you are using Google Chrome, please note that this is not currently a supported browser for Yola, and older versions are particularly problematic. Preferably switch to a different browser (Firefox, IE or Safari), but at the very least make sure you are running the latest version of Chrome.

Hi Katie,
Would be great if you can past the code in here so we can investigate this issue further. You can use the following program to add the code on here so the code is displayed - http://www.punky.co.za/convert.php
Here's how to use it: Simply delete any existing code that is in the code box. Then paste your HTML code in there. Click on "encode". The code will be encoded, then copy this encoded code and paste it in here for us to have a look at.

Hi CineVid,
You can actually change the background of the widget, it just means editing the code.
Here's what you need to do:
1) Click on "edit" in to the top left corner of the HTML widget.
2) The HTML editor will open up.
3) Add this piece of code to the first line of your existing code:
<div style="background-color:#FF0099 " >
On the last line of your code, add in </div>
4) You can change the background color code to any color you like. Simply change "#FF0099" to any color. Here is a list of color code to chose from http://htmlcolorcodes.org/
Please let me know if you have any problems with this.

Kershnee replied on October 13, 2009 17:02 to the question "How do I make the .swf file do I have to have a program, and is the .swf file a slideshow or movie?" in Yola:
Hi Yola_User_A,
It is possible to use Macromedia Flash to create your slideshow, but it is easier to use something like Slide.com.
These are the steps for creating a slideshow with Slide:
1) Open the 'widgets' folder.
2) Drag and drop a Slide widget onto your page.
3) Click on the link in the dialogue box and you will be taken to slide.com - http://www.slide.com
4) Create your slideshow using the steps Slide provides.
5) When you are happy with it, copy the HTML embed code and paste it into the dialogue box in Yola.

Kershnee replied on October 10, 2009 09:12 to the question "// plz.....suggest banner 4 my site ..........//" in Yola:
Hi there,
There are quite a few banner making programs on the Internet if you would like to create your own. I have used a few programs which worked quite nicely if you would like to give them a try: Banner Fans - http://www.bannerfans.com/banner_make... and Banner Maker Pro - http://www.bannermakerpro.com/downloa..., (this is not a free program, but they do have a free trial available).
Here is a link on this forum where a group of users were discussing this topic and gave lots of good ideas: What is the best banner making program - http://forum.yola.com/yola/topics/wha...
Make sure to look at the dimensions of the banner area of your style (this will be displayed at the bottom of the banner editing menu) so that you can create your banner to be the proper size.
Yola offers a selection of styles that allow you to change the banner image. If the banner image can be changed, this will be indicated when you mouseover the banner image.
To change the banner image:
1. Click on directly on the banner image on your page. This will cause the banner editing menu to pop up.
2. A dialog box will open up that will allow you to browse your computer for an image or choose an image from the File Manager.
3. Once you select your image the banner editor will open up.
4. You will now be able to crop and resize your banner image.
5. Once done, click on OK and your banner image will be added to your page.
6. Click on "Save" for the banner image to be saved to your page.
7. You have the option to apply this image to all current and future pages of your site by selecting the "Apply to All" option from the banner editing menu.
