Not being able to edit the context is a problem for me too. I made a suggestion a while ago that Sandy should add an editable text area to every item. The area would originally filled with a copy of the "context", but you can edit it however you wish later on.
Look at this idea. http://getsatisfaction.com/iwantsandy...
kevin1 replied on August 07, 2008 20:53 to the question "How do I update an item AFTER sending it to Sandy?" in I want Sandy:
The other replies here are correct, but perhaps they're missing the point. If I understand you correctly, you're looking to add information to the "context" area of the thing Sandy remembered.
You can edit the "Name" of the thing easily enough. On the website, click on the item and then select "edit". To update an item by email, read Yeraze's post above.

kevin1 replied on August 06, 2008 01:03 to the problem "iCal to-dos" in I want Sandy:
Those todos that have a specific date should appear on that specific day in the calendar. (11 am "To-do: buy milk". Exactly like it works now.) Those todos without a specific date should appear in the to-do column. (This had problems.)
Maruko mentions "Jamie's post". It's at http://getsatisfaction.com/iwantsandy...
kevin1 replied on August 05, 2008 19:35 to the question "Notes disappearing" in I want Sandy:
Glad you figured it out. However, there really should be an easier way to get notified that Sandy didn't understand something. See http://getsatisfaction.com/iwantsandy...
It's easy enough to look at the "most recently updated" list (http://iwantsandy.com/list) and spot the ones that Sandy made an error on. The hard part is when Sandy didn't understand something *at all* and it's not added to the most recently updated list.
kevin1 shared an idea in I want Sandy on August 05, 2008 18:50:
Make it easier to handle "couldn't find anything to do" errors.Occasionally I create a Jott or an email to Sandy and forget to start the sentence with the word "remember". As a result, Sandy can't find anything to do.
There should be a list of all the "couldn't find anything to do" errors. That would make it much easier to find and correct these errors. Currently these case are too hard to track.
Sandy does send email confirmations of all things that she understood, etc. But I can't have her send ONLY cases where she couldn't find anything to do. Instead, I have to search through my confirmation emails from her for any case where she responds with "I got your jott [email] but couldn't find anything you asked me to do." This is annoying.
I use the "most recently updated" list (http://iwantsandy.com/list) to manage all my Sandy communications. I verify that things were transcribed correctly, etc. I don't want to look at the email confirmations. However, right now I have to, because that is the only way that I can find the cases where Sandy didn't find anything to do.
It would be great if there were a list of the cases where Sandy didn't understand something. It would make it so much easier to find and fix those errors. I could find all of them on the website with a single click. I wouldn't have to search though all my emails.
kevin1 replied on August 05, 2008 17:13 to the question "Sandy incorrectly detected reminder as wakeup call" in I want Sandy:
Glad you figured it out. Using "Reminder" instead of "Remember" solves one of the other things that confused me. I'm still curious why you didn't get a reminder 15 minutes before 7 am though. Maybe you've changed your default reminder time. (http://iwantsandy.com/settings/datetime)
I definitely recommend using the "most recently updated" list to track new items that you've created. (i.e. "Your Stuff -> Any Type" http://iwantsandy.com/list) It's easy and it shows all items, sorted by the last time you updated the item. (It includes items of all types, although it doesn't include items tagged with @archive.) There are a couple of odd things to watch out for though.
First, the list doesn't show anything for those Jotts or emails where an error happened and Sandy failed to find something to do. I cannot tell you how annoying this is. I would like to be able to use the "most recently updated" list to manage all my Sandy communications, fix things that were transcribed incorrectly, etc. But I can't rely on this list. Instead, every day I have to worry about the possibility that some error happened and check either Sandy's emails (http://iwantsdandy.com/email) or my own email account for anything where she responds and says "I got your jott [email] but couldn't find anything you asked me to do." I would like for Sandy to create something, anything, so that I could have a list of the cases where she didn't understand something. That way I would have a specific place I could check for those errors.
Second, by default, the "most recently updated" list hides two things, 1) old events, and 2) @done items. See the links at the top of the list page "Show done to-dos" and "Show past". This is the most likely reason you weren't able to see the "call bank" event in the list. Because you didn't look at the list before the event occurred. (i.e. You didn't look at the list between whenever you created the event, say 2 pm on the first day, and 7:00 am the next morning.)
kevin1 replied on August 05, 2008 04:45 to the question "Sandy incorrectly detected reminder as wakeup call" in I want Sandy:
The description you give is very confusing. What do you mean by "wakeup call"? Can you give some more information on just what you mean?
Do you mean that Sandy called you in the morning? Did she specifically call in order to wake you up? What time did she call? Did she send you an email or did she call your cell phone? Did she actually call, or did she send you an sms message? What did it say? Can you give a description of what the event looks like on the Sandy website? When did Sandy schedule it? Is it a repeating event? Does it have a reminder, at what time? Any other important details? hint, hint.
My best guess right now is that you didn't provide a time, so Sandy scheduled it for the default time, 7 am. And she set a reminder for the event at the default time of 15 minutes before the event. Odd how the reminder was sent to your phone when the message didn't use the @sms tag. But maybe you have the global setting turned on that Sandy should send you sms reminders about everything. (http://iwantsandy.com/settings/mobile)
Did you receive a 6:45 am sms message from Sandy reminding you to call the bank?
kevin1 replied on August 03, 2008 03:07 to the problem "Forget command no longer working" in I want Sandy:
The syntax to specify a recurring event actually depends on what type of recurring event it is. If it's a daily event, then add @daily, if it's a bimonthy event, then add @bimonthly, etc.
Be sure to include the recurring event tag in order to change every future event in the series.
> forget #1 @daily
> forget #1 @bimonthly
> update #1 @monthly 5:10 pm
Of course, you can always log onto the website and edit the recurring event from there.

kevin1 replied on July 23, 2008 08:54 to the question "Is there a comprehensive list of all Sandy's sneaky urls?" in I want Sandy:
If I read that correctly, You're saying that the items in the RSS feed include a link back to the item on the Sandy web page.
But this isn't what you want your RSS feed of bookmarks to do.
You want items in your bookmarks feed to provide a link to the URL that is bookmarked. So that you can click on it. Right now, each bookmark in the feed just provides the URL as additional text, there is no link that you can click on. So you have to copy and paste the text into the address bar.
Ask Rael about this. It should be a relatively easy thing to do. It's also the correct thing to do. (If an item of type "bookmark" is added to a feed, it should provide a clickable link to the URL.)

Thanks Markk. Hey, if you think it's that useful, click on the link that says "this is one of the best points" would you? That way it's more obvious to people outside of this thread. And I completely agree about the FAQ. – kevin1, on July 23, 2008 08:36
kevin1 replied on July 22, 2008 00:50 to the idea "Display todos without a time in alphabetical order?" in I want Sandy:
You want to specify the sort order for todo items in the Daily Digest? Even more specifically, you want to specify the sort order for the todos in the Daily Digest that don't have a date?
I experimented a little, but I wasn't able to get what you wanted. You can do some experiments yourself and see what you can come up with. I know how to specify some things, I wish I knew how to specify only items without a date.
Try these:
http://iwantsandy.com/list?tag=todo&t...
http://iwantsandy.com/list?tag=todo&s...
http://iwantsandy.com/list?tag=todo&s...
http://iwantsandy.com/list?tag=todo&d...
http://iwantsandy.com/list?tag=todo&s...
Doesn't work. http://iwantsandy.com/digest?sort=alpha
Doesn't work. http://iwantsandy.com/digest?tag=todo...
You can mix and match the parameters. (xx=yy)
tag=todo -- limit the results to only those items tagged as todo
type=note -- limit the results to only those items that are notes.
sort=alpha -- sort the results alphabetically and adds a Letter divider
sort=date -- sort the items by date. Excluding items that don't have a date.
sort=none
date=today
date=7/4/2008
type=note is particularly confusing. It's a hack to get around not being able to search for items without a date.
A type is one of Appointment, Bookmark, Contact, List, or Note. Once an item has been created it's type cannot be changed. (Note that a todo is a tag and not a type.) If you told Sandy to remember something and provided a date, she most likely added it as an Appointment. If you didn't provide a date it became a Note. (Unless there was a phone number, etc which would prompt Sandy to create a Contact.) At the same time you have Sandy create a Note, you can have her tag it as @todo. This will make the item both a Note and a todo.
> remember to buy milk. @todo
A Note that later was edited to add a date would not show up when searching for Appointments. It's type was not changed to appointment. Similarly, an Appointment that was later edited to remove the date will not show up when searching for a Note.

kevin1 shared an idea in I want Sandy on July 21, 2008 22:10:
Teach Sandy to work with other websitesSandy should be able to do things for me online. She's my assistant, and she lives online. It'd be natural for her. I should be able to give her my login and password to a site, and she should be able to use the service. There's a ton of things that she could do for me.
Sandy should be able to:
*) track packages (Fedex.com)
*) monitor plane flights (tell me if it's delayed)
*) update my Twitter account
*) monitor my Ebay auctions
*) work with Facebook
*) shop for things on Amazon
I'd love to see some "Sandy addons" that can do some of these things. Just like Jott has "Jott links", Sandy could have "Sandy links" that would allow her to interact with online services. In fact, there should be a way that people can create new addons for Sandy, just like all those Jott links and Firefox extensions. Having Sandy be able to use other online services would make her quite the useful assistant.
