A comment on the idea "There should be a utility to create custom Prism web applications." in Jolicloud:
If you would actually read the first post, you would realize that I know that already. I want a simpler, more obvious way to do it. – Kevin Mason, on October 12, 2009 18:50

1) Press Alt+F2, then type the following in the box:
"sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/sdhc"
(without double quotes, and making sure to check the box that says "run in terminal")
and, after you enter the password in the terminal window (if prompted), add the following to the text editor that comes up:
"options sdhci debug_quirks=1"
(without double quotes)
Save and exit the text editor.
2) Press Alt+F2, then type the following in the box:

Good idea, it makes sense that it would always be next to the title of the app. Although, I think this is also present on any OS that uses maximus (such as Ubuntu Netbook Remix, EasyPeasy, etc.)
I would also like so that the Go-Home Applet is always visible, and that overflowed applications simply go under it, and to access said applications, there is arrow buttons on the window picker applet. It would make sense, seeing how this os is designed mainly for netbooks, which usually only go up to 1024x600 px resolution at max.
There may be gnome applets to fix either of these problems, however, but if there is, I'd like to see them implemented by default.-

There should be a utility to create custom Prism web applications.I think there should be an easier, more obvious way of creating custom apps with Prism. Currently, you have to search for prism using alt+f2 and entering in "prism", to create the app, and then just to put it on the menu, you have to make use of a custom command (by more or less copying one from the other web applications, and editing it to make sure it references your own app, which involves peeking in a hidden folder in your home directory).
I'd like to see an easier way of doing this, such as adding a modified version of the prism app creator, that puts the shortcut on the menu, instead of the desktop. Either built into a firefox plugin, or as a standalone application on the menu, under favorites (the latter would be better). I think this would make Jolicloud something very unique, and set it apart from many other cloud OSes, and offer functionality and customizability better than maybe even Google's new Chrome OS. It would basically turn web developers into software developers - something I would personally love, being a budding web developer myself.
Maybe this could be called: "Jolicloud Create"? ;)

Its a nice idea, however, any Website can easily be made into an app in Jolicloud. Follow these steps:
1. Hit Alt+F2 and type in prism. Enter the settings in the window that pops up for the website.
2. Go to Preferences > Main Menu, and add a new menu item with the following settings:
Type: Application
Name: Whatever you want to name it.
Command: "/usr/lib/prism/prism" -override "/home/[your username]/.webapps/[your.app]@prism.app/override.ini" -webapp [your.app]@prism.app
Comment: Whatever comments you have for it.
3. For the bracketed info in the command, don't enter it as that exactly, follow these instructions for what they should be:
[your username] = the username for your account
[your.app] = the name you gave the prism app in step 1, but in lowercase and with the spaces (if any) replaced with periods ".".
If you did it right, you will now have a custom app for any website you want in Jolicloud.
A comment on the question "Why webcam doesn't work in Acer Aspire One?" in Jolicloud:
I sort of have the same issue, but it doesn't concern me too much, but I do know that it doesn't work with v4l2, but does work with v4l. Although, I think the reason why it doesn't matter too much to me, is that I used Multimedia Systems Selector (available by searching for it after pressing Alt+F2), to make the default video input use v4l, and thus it overrides those certain programs. Although, I tried it in Canorama and Ekiga, and they don't work, but Skype, Cheese and amsn work great. – Kevin Mason, on July 29, 2009 19:03

How do you get the Acer Aspire One's SD Card Slots to work (hotplug) on Jolicloud? How do you get the Acer Aspire One's SD Card Slots to work (hotplug) on Jolicloud? I tried googling for solutions (generic to Linux), and tried them, but none of them worked. Is there something I am missing? I'm hoping I didn't have to do something at installation for this.
