Blanks in filenamesWhen retrieving a file that has blanks or other special characters in the filename, it names the file with the % escape codes. Can this be fixed to just give the file the same name as when it was saved. It forces the user to fix it manually. An annoyance, but it seems that there ought to be a way to get the filename automatically.

Redacting information and pagesIf the pbwiki is going to be used for legal, business, government, medical industry etc purposes, there should probably be a way for redacting information in a document. in the editor, selecting text and pressing the redact button will cause it to have a strikethrough and be gray or something like that to the editor. Readers only see a block of gray and can not read the text. This has to be a server-side filter so that page source does not contain the redacted information.
Also, although not essential, a nice to have is a permanent storage for redacted wiki pages (as opposed to deleted). Only admins could see the redacted pages. Once redacted, the page can not be deleted from the redacted pages. A single-button redact would be nice for admins.
A business purpose for redacted pages is when the company has an official policy. You don't want to delete the old policy because it is a legal document and you keep copies of old policies.
For healthcare there are legal requirements for HIPAA (patient privacy). You might want some information redacted when you make a form public or viewable by an outside organization.
Of course the military would want a way to redact before publication.

View ControlI want more view and print controls. For example, it would be nice to be able to print pages without comments. A +/- box beside comments to expand or contract would do this. It would be good to be able to lock out various visibility on the view page to make FAQ sites.
kgkitchen replied on August 23, 2008 17:43 to the question "Can people add a 'signature' to their comments?" in PBwiki:
I would take it a step further. I would let any user who has write or above permission sign the page content before saving the edit by clicking a check box (signed). Furthermore, you'd have to verify by typing in your password again to make sure you wanted to sign the page (in case you left your computer unattended). This would lock the page against edits and a "signed" box would be checked at the side of the page view with the name/face of the signer and date/time underneath. Once you sign a page, then the only operation permissible is delete the page, by admins. You could still make comments on a signed page. This provides fairly bullet-proof legality to signed pages. They would have the weight of a contract. I would say that the system should archive deleted signed pages permanently. This might be good enough to satisfy legal requirements for a digital signature. Perhaps the system should integrate with open-ID. A convenience would be to use a fingerprint reader to enter your password, then signing a doc would be easy as putting your finger on the reader and pressing Okay.
I agree that Wiki provides much authentication information by nature of change tracking (owner and date/timestamps). Taking it a step further with a real authenticated signature would be super cool.
