Kichigai shared an idea in Brightkite on July 26, 2008 23:59:
Provide a system for people to generate 2D barcodes that people can scan for a semi-automated check-in.Set up a simple system similar to what the Semapedia has in place to allow people to generate 2D barcodes that people can scan to check in at locations. It could generate three different codes that people could scan, allowing them to choose between e-mailing, SMS-ing in or using a URL to check in. Perhaps even promote this with companies in the future as a way of promoting their businesses via check-ins, and allow people to make their homes/jobs/hang-outs easier to check into.
A comment on the question "Brightkite S60 Client" in Brightkite:
Good idea, except cells are huge. Sometimes over a mile in diameter. I'd see a problem with it checking me in at home when I'm over at a friend's. Having it suggest placemarks based on cells is a good idea though. – Kichigai, on July 26, 2008 23:34

Kichigai shared an idea in Qik on July 22, 2008 00:14:
Mobile page for Qik: allows you to manage videos or view streamsA Mobile Page so viewers can manage their videos on the go? Or some way of viewing Qik videos on my phone? Granted, the chat might be hard to implement, but I'd love to be able to at least delete videos without having to go to my computer.
Kichigai reported a problem in Qik on July 22, 2008 00:10:
Qik Client says video uploaded, video not available on the website.I just recorded a Qik video and the client says it uploaded, but it's not in my profile. I'm running the latest Qik version on a Nokia N73-5 in the US. I have the video stored on my phone (Qik dumped it locally).
I do have other recent videos that successfully streamed, same phone, same firmware, same network, so I'm perplexed why this didn't work (figures, the one time I actually had real content to add, but it's OK, I doubt I would have gotten more than two or three viewers ;) )-

A comment on the idea "GPS based phone applet" in Brightkite:
I agree that this shouldn't be limited to GPS. The use of cell towers is a good idea, but not for auto-check-in. At least allow me to check in and use Cell Towers to find recent locations near me so I don't have to manually type in the address all the time. – Kichigai, on July 10, 2008 01:01-
