Right now you can use the Global Inbox. i.e. Local Folders for multiple POP accounts. It is an option when setting up a POP account. A shared inbox does not make sense for IMAP accounts.

Unfortunately turning this on would get us in a lot of trouble with server
vendors (including gmail) as it's extremely expensive to have the client poll
every folder on the server for new mail.

You can take a step in this direction already by not showing the send progress dialog. To do this, go to Options/Preferences->Advanced->Config Editor. Look for the pref 'mailnews.show_send_progress' and double click to set it to false.

I also like the idea of getting rid of the window immediately.

Hi Jon,

Sorry about the delayed response. I actually did try it last week and everything is working fine for me. However, it could be that you are missing a binary dependency. We have just overhauled our build system with the goal of making our binaries and the extension in general more robust. The first version (v1.2) made from that system will be released within a week.

In the meantime, you can try the following:

$ sudo apt-get build-dep firefox

Note this will pull a lot of software on to your machine that you do not need, but it may solve the dependency problem.

Yup, that's me! The first error is known and will be fixed in the next release. It is harmless. What that second error is telling me is that the XPCOM component is not registering on your system, which means some of the photo services will not work. Which is odd, because it was built on Ubuntu 8.04. I will look into it and get back to you.

What version of Firefox are you using,a nd on what platform? It will say in Help->About or Firefox->About Mozilla Firefox on Mac. This is a known issue in Firefox 3 versions up to Beta 5. If you are at that version or below, I suggest updating and trying again.
