Actually, they don't. Both in software and biologically speaking. They are plumbed quite differently than you and I.
And there ARE other problems with Songbird other than just this - I still prefer the Zune software from a functional standpoint. PLEASE, work on the interface! Typical of OSS type projects, great complexity is masked by, well, not much. Look at iTunes or Zune (Or even early versions of Winamp, before it stopped significantly improving and started "Whipping the llama's ass!") for a good example of a nice, clean interface that can be dug into, but can work well forever with no user customization. AND, importing music in AAC format always seems to lose album art, perhaps other metadata is lost as well, but I uninstalled Songbird so I don't know.
Hooray Web 2.0 and all that, but it seems to me that there is a level of professionalism missing from a lot of software these days. I'd rather have something that is functionally correct and consistent rather than something that is all shine and new features anyday.

Remove the farting.Seriously, you should remove the Songbird's constant flatulence. It's not funny, or snarky, or whatever you were going for. It's juvenile. And, no matter the quality of the codebase, it sends the message "We are not taking this seriously". I'd like to see you succeed, I like your software, but it's significantly less appealing like this. It's kind of like going to the store and seeing a good product labeled "Sucks less!" - it's sending the wrong message.
