For those who are interested in following the latest oddities happening in @jmcoon's account, there's an active discussion going on here: http://getsatisfaction.com/twitter/to...

Looks like @jmcoon had his account posting privileges back on Jun 6.
I hope yours is restored as well, erik.

mdy - thanks for posting.
"We plan to refine our internal tools so we can more accurately maintain a quality service without stepping on any toes—this is a good learning experience for us."
Clearly, it either wasn't much of a plan or much of a learning experience. I'm not upset at Twitter for the suspension - I'm upset at how they handle customer service incidents like this.
It's my expectation that myself, jmcoon and richardsayer will be reinstated as foulbastard was. It's ridiculous that history seems to repeat itself in such short timeframes with Twitter - especially given responses from their staff such as the above one in the case of similar incidents like this.
Oh, and Jarret - if you don't get your account back, just do what's right - tell everyone that will listen.

Hi. Since you mentioned @foulbastard in particular, you might be interested in this related reply here in GSFN which shows how his case was resolved.
( I know this info is already included in Chris Brogan's blogpost, but it's at the end of a long post and can be easily missed )

Jarret - You were suspended from Twitter for following so many people. I was also suspended today without reason or warning - for the exact same thing.
Clearly, we did not break the Terms of Service as neither you nor I have posted questionable content, spammed the service, or anything else. However - if you care to read http://www.chrisbrogan.com/a-foul-bas... you will see that we are unlikely to:
1) Receive any reply from Twitter staff here on Get Satisfaction
2) Receive any reply from the Twitter Help page or staff
3) Have our accounts reinstated
This is a seriously bad move on Twitter's part as we weren't doing anything other than using the service as intended. There is no posted limit on the number of people you are allowed to follow on Twitter, and they didn't provide any reason or warning for the suspension.
If my Twitter account isn't reinstated after tomorrow, I'm going to break this story through my blog, and get in touch with TechCrunch and Mashable to share it as well. In my opinion I didn't deserve a suspension, and Twitter needs to do a much better job of customer service when they decide they are going to freeze an account.
The only positive here is that they may decide to unsuspend us when they have time to check and see that we weren't abusing the service. However, given the recent issues Twitter's staff has had with negative press surrounding their customer service practices, I'm not holding my breath.
Twitter - suspending power users of your service for no reason and for no violation of your own written Terms of Service is not going to win you any free positive PR. I'm not some gigantic blogger like Scoble or whomever, but I am pretty pissed off about how I've been treated in this instance.
I drive traffic and provide content to your service, and you repay me by suspending me without explanation. Thanks!

I think your best bet is to log a support ticket at http://twitter.com/help (if you haven't done so yet, that is)

From the TOS:
"We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time."
They don't have to have a reason, to be honest.
Also, if you were using a script to follow people, I imagine that wasn't a smart move - they are trying to fight Twitter spam bots as well as keep the service up.
