I see. It would be good though to have some indication that the contacts are not entirely synced, if the picture is not present in one end. I am not sure I dare remove/re-add the Gmail contact, as it may cause some loss of connected chat friends, etc.
Maybe a way to push a particular field (e.g. picture) over to one connector could be a development for you? – KMK, on November 16, 2009 13:25

Only some of my Gmail contact pictures are synced to Soocial... and in one case it seems the resolution has been changed also on the original (Gmail)?

I would like to get some more info on the iPhone sync app that you have made available, before I start using it. Primarily, I would be interested in learning how I should set up other sync options on my iPhone. I currently use the Gmail/Exchange push sync. Should that be turned off? (I have Gmail hooked up with Soocial)

If it needs to be turned off (which I assume), I would like to suggest a push alert feature, which on a regular basis (configurable, every hour, day, week), pushes alerts and/or badge updates to my iPhone, notifying me that I should sync my addressbook. With such a feature in place, I don't mind loosing the "real-time push sync" from Gmail/Exchange. A couple of taps would make the address book updated anyway.

I have the same issue. I thought the group sync was off between Gmail and Soocial, but the number of contacts in Soocial match the ones in Gmail. But the count in the web interface is incorrect. Refreshing does not help.
