What is the status on the Soocial integration?

This sounds like a similar setup to the one I tried about a month ago - E71 with 'Mail for Exchange' and Outlook client both syncing with an Exchange server.

I have tried both syncing Outlook (on Exchange) with the Soocial plugin client with Soocial, which did not work very well. There is a new plugin in the works, due for release any day according to the support. Maybe that works better.

I then tried using the built in phone support for SyncML, syncing (only) the phone with Soocial. The phone would sync with Exchange using MfE. No sync between Soocial and Outlook/Exchange directly. This would work a few times, but then the sync started to get interrupted, giving messages that the sever respond with an error.

I have - for now - given up with the Outlook-integration, as the contacts where getting messed up, duplicated and some missing. I just may try it out once the new plugin is released, provided that an Outlook/Exchange-setup is supported.

In my opinion Plaxo lost focus of the core features (i.e. sync and up-to-date contact details) a long time ago.

The concept of Soocial is great, so I am certainly also willing to assist to improve the solution.

How does the merge function work, in post-merge syncs? I have noticed that some of my Google GTalk-friends "disappear" after merging two contacts in the Soocial web-interface. How do you select the contact to keep in Google, so that they link to accepted GTalk-friends are not lost?

Duplicate duplication!

I had some troubles the other day, when I noted that there were a few of my contacts which had been duplicated. I removed the duplicates on my iPhone, which syncs using Exhange with Gmail. Gmail in turn is connected to Soocial.

Today, the duplications are back! It seems to be the same contacts also. One of them is duplicated 7 times!

Is this a known issue, or only me.

It seems the Notes field is getting really screwed up, and copied into itselfs, multiple times also. Lots of cleansing to do.

How about introducing auto-suggest for some of the web interface fields, like city, country, etc? It would save time and reduce the spelling mistakes also...

Add more IM types

Currently, I can only see AIM, ICQ, MSN and XMPP as IM type labels in the web interface. It would be great if you would add more of the regular IM types, even if they may be "compatible" with some of the listed ones. Or maybe you have excluded the IMs which are based on a mail service, like Gmail/Gtalk, Yahoo, Hotmail/Live, etc? If so, it would make sense to list them (the email addresses) also under IM.
